Chapter One

ROXY'S POV

Damn. The day had come already. Nina's piercing brown eyes watched me intently as I sighed. "Do I have to?"

"Yes, you do! He didn't keep his promise, remember? So you vowed on this day, March 4th, 2012 that you would delete him from your life forever and never turn back. You said, and I quote, 'it would be the healthiest thing to do.'" Gabbie chipped in.

"Did you seriously have to memorize that day, Gabs?" I asked with narrowed eyes.

"She did because we both knew you would do this. Gabbie and I did it. We moved on and we understand that it's harder for you since you two were always closer than the rest of us." Nina said implying to her, Gabbie and the rest of our 'gang'.

Nina, Gabbie and I were his girl friends. Well, not girlfriends.. just friends that were girls. Nina moved from her standing position and sat next to me on the bed, Gabbie following her shortly after.

"We love you Roxy and we honestly think you should move on. Stop waiting because if he wanted to keep in touch or stay friends, he would have."

I sighed, knowing they were right. Harry Styles, 1/5th of One Direction used to be my best friend. We were inseparable since the diaper days. That stood true until he auditioned for the X-Factor, became  part of the biggest boy-band in the world and got totally engrossed in the fame. He promised he would keep in touch but obviously never did. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had to be forced to delete anything to do with him from my phone, laptop and other mechanical devices.

I had tried to keep in contact. I really did - sending him emails and texts, calling him repeatedly. But after a while, I got tired and stopped. Interviewers would show pictures of us before X-Factor and ask him about me. He would say I was just an old friend. Nothing more, nothing less. He had broken my heart.

My flash back was interrupted by Nina waving my cellular device quite closely to my face and Gabbie placing my laptop beside me. I looked at the two girls and took a deep breath.

"Here I go." I mumbled, which led them to cheer.

A lot of deleted information later, I was finished. Not one picture left - or so they thought. Before they came over, I saved everything on a USB cord. I mentally clapped myself on the back for that one.

I collapsed on my bed stuffing my head into my pillow. "See? That wasn't so hard." Nina commented.

"Step one; done. Step two; mission distract." Gabbie said with a cheeky grin.

"What?" I asked quirking an eyebrow in her direction.

"We are taking you to the mall, silly. You are going on a shopping spree for your birthday, which I must remind you is tomorrow."

I groaned. I never liked my birthday. I thought it was a waste, turning a year older. And it was also around the time my parents left, something I didn't particularly prefer to be reminded of. Gabbie's and Nina's parents adopted me after they left. We were all sisters now: them by blood; me by law.  It had been two years since my parents left me. They left me around the same time Harry did.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" I said, forcing out a smile. We rushed into Gabbie's red convertible. The car was like her baby. She even had a name for it. Alexa, Lexi for short. If anyone damaged her car, she would damage them twice as hard.

We drove to the mall closest to our house, like normal and immediately ran to our favorite store; Forever21. I gravitated towards the shoes corner of the shop, looking across the store to the bag area to see Gabbie hovering over the different sizes and shapes of purses, mouth completely agape. My eyes then caught sight of Nina in the jewellery section with a bunch of bracelets hanging off of one arm. A wide smile stretched across my face as I struggled to hold back a laugh. These girls were insane.

I gasped as I caught a glimpse of red platform heels, hugging them as soon as I came in arm's length. "Someone looks a bit happier than usual to find a pair of shoes." Nina said holding a bunch of clothes, a smirk plastered onto her cherry lips.

"Well someone has been looking for these shoes since forever. But you shouldn't be the one to talk since your carrying about 100 different types of clothing." I chuckled.

She let out an exasperated sigh. "Some are for me.. but some are for you, too."

I sighed, not bothering to argue with her. Nina always liked to make people happy and if they tried to stop her, she would just get angry and force you to accept her act of kindness. She was forcefully generous, you could say.

I entered the changing room and tried on every piece of clothing I was handed, loving each piece and not being able to choose which ones I liked better. With the help of the girls, I decided on a few main things and we headed to the food court. We sat down with our lunch at a booth and began eating when 5 boys with hoodies and sunglasses walked in. I nudged Nina, pointing to them and she did the same to Gabbie. We ate and stole a few glances at them curiously while they sat down at a booth across from us.

"Anyway, Roxy! You'll be 18 tomorrow!" Gabbie reminded me and Nina cheered her on causing some people to look our way.

"You do know what that means, right?" Nina chipped in.

"Oh, God." I cowered behind my large menu, trying to cover up as much of my beet red cheeks as possible.

She sent a wolf-whistle tumbling along the walls, sending some waiters to our table, one holding 3 slices of carrot cake and chocolate ice-cream on the side. I sighed as they began to sing 'Happy Birthday' ridiculously out of tune. I probably looked like a swollen tomato by the time they were finished. Everyone in the fast food restaurant cheered so I mumbled a 'Thank You' to them politely, sending my two best friends death glares while they laughed hysterically.

When everything died down I ate my calorie-filled desert moaning as it melted in my mouth. "I love you." I murmured between bites, oblivious to the girls' weird expressions as I leaned back in my chair with a sigh. Nina nudged me and moved her head in the direction of the 5 boys; they had taken off their disguises.

One of the 5 anonymous boys sitting across the restaurant was Harry. My Harry.
