Chapter One: part one.

A Bit Annoying, Actually.

John Watson and Sherlock Holmes were running through London, chasing a serial killer. It sounded stupid if you said it like that, but, honestly, it was a regular thing they did. It was probably not a good thing, though. They had been eating at a small restaurant that was only ten minutes away from Baker Street, when Sherlock suddenly saw a man that fit the profile of their killer, and had been suspected of lesser crimes before. Sherlock put fifty pounds on the table and ran out of the restaurant, John following closely behind.

The full moon shone brightly as the detective and his blogger ran through the dark streets of London, John being barely able to keep up. The criminal didn't slow down, though, in fact, he sped up, and at one point Sherlock lost him.

But John didn't.

He called out Sherlock's name and headed down the alleyway where the criminal had escaped to. Once he saw that it was a dead end, he slowed down. There was no possible way for the delinquent to escape, but there was no sign of him. John was about to leave when he heard a growl. His eyes widened, he slowly turned around, and there it was, a giant, black wolf.

John could only see the wolf.

It's eyes were hypnotising.

Time stopped, except it didn't, because if John concentrated he could hear the faint sound of Sherlock's footsteps in the background, and the sound of his best friend begging him to move, to get out of harm's way.

It felt like John couldn't move, but he tried to, for Sherlock. Just one small step backwards and...

The wolf pounced, and John could only remember the burning feeling of the wolf's teeth in his flesh and his best friend's screams that were filled with fear.
