4 HOURS EARLIER- Hayden's POV: I ran across the road to the woods on the other side. The sun was just about to go down and the moon was already rising in the distance. I ducked under a low hanging branch and made my way into the woods. Mandy was supposed to come with me, but she took too long so I left without her. I'm regretting that decision immediately. It's not that I'm afraid of being in the woods alone it's just better when someone is with you. You know to talk and hang out with to pass the time. Besides she would have come up with something cool to do or something to make me laugh. And who doesn't love some back and forth banter. I would kill to be arguing and bickering with her right now. "Damn it", I said out loud. Why does she have to be so damn slow? I continued walking towards my destination. This was going to take a few minutes so I pulled out my earbuds and turned to my playlist. There was only one song on my mind at the moment. I smiled pressing play on the song. *G Note* "When I was...a young boy...my father...took me into the city...to see a marching band," I continued singing along as I ducked under more branches and stepped over some roots sticking out of the ground. I should have never agreed to do this. I should be home with some pizza rolls right now, bundled up playing an online game or some shit. Anything is better than this right now. I knew damn well why it was taking Mandy so long and I didn't want any part of it, but I just can't say no to her. She's my best friend and I love her. Not only that, but I really love her and she knows it. I guess that's why it hurts so much that she isn't here. Ashton deserves what's coming to him. If she doesn't get to him first I'm going to kill him. Mandy means everything to me and then he just steps in and fucking messes with her like she's some skank. "RRrrrgggahhhhh", I grit my teeth and yelled in anger. I don't care if she is there first I'M going to be the one to kill that son a bitch. I hesitated and stopped as I realized where I was. I turned my music off and shoved my earbuds in my pocket. The trees blocked out what light there was and made the woods look pitch black. That's just what I was hoping for. I pulled my hood up and over my head to hide my face and walked a little further until I reached a road. Across the road from the woods there was a two story house up on a little hill with a big front yard that continued on into the back. The house looked very much like many high school parties had been thrown there and that was exactly what it should have looked like. Not many adults knew about the place so it never got busted. Our town can be clearly seen from the top of the hill too. I glanced around to make sure no one was around and headed for the house. No one lived in it, but it had been used so many times for parties that everyone just eventually brought some furniture or chairs and tables. The electricity and water always worked, who paid for it and how it managed to always stay on, no one knew and no one cared. I walked to the door and checked in the little windows first to make sure no one was inside. Seeing the coast was clear I walked inside and locked the door behind me. There had just been a party in here the night before. Beer cans, ping pong balls, cups, alcohol, and some clothing was scattered all over the place. I turned on all the lights and made my way to the kitchen. I've been here millions of times and had used the place as my own personal get away for a long time so of course I have snacks and weapons hidden all over the house. I walked to the fridge and opened the door. To anyone else the inside would have looked like it was just full of alcohol, but I pushed aside all the cans and bottles and pressed my hand against the very back of the fridge. A secret little compartment opened up in the back and I pulled out a soda. The compartment door closed right after. I had built it in a while back so none of the stoners ever took my snacks when partying. Those burnouts always stole my damn Jalapeno Cheetos. I don't have a problem with smoking or drinking i just get bored with it after a little bit. How anyone can pass out hammered or stoned and wake up and start doing it all over again immediately after is beyond me. Fucking warriors is what we call them. "Hehehe.", I chuckled to myself at the thought. I popped opened the soda, took a swig then set it down and got to work finding everything Mandy and I were going to need.
