"Baby, you've got me sick,
I don't know what I did.
Need to take a break and figure it out, yeah."
Harry's gorgeous rock-ish voice sounded through the big speakers. About twenty or thirty girls sat in the first few rows watching the boys do sound check. The other boys were milling around the back of the stage while Harry stood at the front, making the girls scream. Like a lot. Like someone would squeal when they...meet.... their... idol. Shut up.
"Got your voice in my head,
Saying let's just be friends,
Can't believe the words came outta your mouth,
yeah."
Squealing. Everywhere. How can so few girls cause so much ear pain. Sheesh.
"Lou," I said. Turning to the seat beside me that Lou occupied. "Do you think if I threw things at the girls they'd stop screaming so loud?" I asked. She burst out laughing. I joined her.
Some of the squealing girls turned towards us with cranky voices, telling us to shut up. LIGHT BULB! Time to use my connection with the boys to my advantage. Hehe.
I jumped up and walked over to the girls who'd told me to shut up with a grin on my face.
"So I see you like One Direction." I observed. My Captain obvious side showing through. They looked at me like I'd just told them Harry was ugly. Oh I would never.
"You think?" One of the girls asked.
"Oh yes, why would you be here otherwise." The girls weren't looking to pleased. I smiled at them. "Who's your favourite?"
"Louis." The girl with the cranky face told me. "What are you doing here anyway?" She asked me.
"Oh you know. Just waiting to make a certain boy band look pretty." They looked at me dumbfounded before their eyes went wide and squeals fell out of their mouths.
"You work with them?" Another girl squealed. Oops. Looks like I'm attracting a crowd. I nodded, grinning.
"Oi, Elle!?" I heard one of the boys call into their mic. I looked over.
"Yo. What's up?" I had to practically shout.
"Stop stealing the crowd." Louis joked.
"Oh no he didn't." I mumbled. The girls were all practically pissing themselves. Hehehe. I love my job.
I walked over to the stage and waited for Louis to lean down. I poked him in the eye and then jumped up and ran off before he could grab me. When I looked back, Louis was watching me sadly.
"Oh, babe." I said venturing onto the stage. He turned to me with a sad face. I squeezed him into a hug.
"That hurt." I laughed.
"Oh sweety. You're fine." I told him. "Now, keep singing." I told him and started walking off the stage. Amazingly I got all the way to the top step when someone grabbed me around the waist, planted a sloppy kiss on my forehead then let me go. I walked down the stairs rubbing my forehead chanting "ewie." The girls were all looking rather jealous.
"What? That was gross. There's slobber on my forehead." I told them defensively. Wait, who planted the slobbery kiss anyways. I turned around to find the stage empty. "Woah. Where'd they go?" I asked the girls. The girl I was talking to earlier piped up.
"They went over there." She said pointing to a massive screen. They're totally hiding behind it. I walked over to it, not expecting them to jump out and scream like the place was on fire. But they did. I shrieked like the little girl I am and practically jumped off the stage and went and hid behind the fans.
