~[Hope of Faith's Point of View]~

"Dear, could you pass me the pliers?"Creator asked me. I was currently at a desk writing a reply letter to All of Love on how I was doing. Tools were set aside in a tool box on one side of the desk-- while I took up the other side with my paper, brush, and ink.

I set down my brush in the brush holder gently, grabbing said pair of pliers without looking, standing up from the chair.

"Yes, of course."

I walked towards my husband, handing him the tool, which he took with a thank you and a grin. He went to back to work....on whatever he was doing.

I gave a nod, before heading back to the desk. I noticed something, I picked up the ink container. Yes, it's much lighter than we first bought it. Brushing a stray strand of my white hair aside, I set down the ink container back onto the desk.

"It seems we ran out of ink, I'll have to go get more,"I spoke quietly, not wanting to startle the Creator from how immensely focused he was in the task he was doing.

"We're running low on rice too,"My husband added.

"Then, I'll get that also,"I nodded, folding my hands in front of me.

I started walking out of the room, towards the door-- or what I thought was the door.

"Mother-- that's not a-"

I walked into something hard and solid. Oh...a wall. It's a wall.

Dizzy from the impact, I stumbled backwards, before my legs gave out on me. I started making a unwilling descent to the floor, before a slim but strong pair of arms caught and steadied me-- stopping my fall.

"Mother, please be more careful...that's the tenth time this week,"Tsubaki requested worriedly, letting go of my hand, after making sure I was able to stand and stay balanced.

Tsubaki was sitting in the room, quietly on the floor until now. He must of rushed to catch me.

I patted him reassuringly on the shoulder, almost comically, "No, no no, I'm fine! See!" I grinned a bit to quickly, my fangs showing.

"Mother..."

"Dear, you just walked into a wall and lost your balance,"My husband pointed out, not helping my case, making me slump, "Perhaps it's best for Tsubaki to accompany you on your trip, Yuki."

It wasn't a suggestion.

I held back a sigh, knowing it wasn't becoming of a wife or lady to disobey her husband's orders, "...very well, we'll be back soon."

"I'll be cleaning up here, and be waiting for your arrival home. I love you."

"I love you too,"I replied, before turning to Tsubaki.

Tsubaki offered his kimono sleeved arm towards me, which I gripped onto allowing him to guide me out of the basement, upstairs, out of the house, and towards the market.

"Is something on your mind, Tsubaki?"I asked, tilting my head to look up at him. He seemed startled by the sudden question, before he composed himself.

"No...why do you ask?"

I smiled, shaking my head, "I can tell when something is on your mind, my child, and you know you can always talk with me if something is troubling you."

"I know, Mother, I just...."He looked away with a small flush, "Can you tell me more about my siblings...please?"

I simply laughed, "I'm glad you asked!"

I proceeded to tell Tsubaki embarrassing stories of his older siblings. Which we shared our laughs, smiles, and giggles over.

Soon enough we got the ink and rice, more than halfway back home.

We walked in comfortable silence. Tsubaki being nice enough to hold the bag of rice for me. While I was stubborn on carrying the ink bottle myself, the object tucked up my kimono sleeve.

Sadly, the peace couldn't last.

People started running and screaming pass us in terror.

I was confused for a moment before I caught sight of what the source terror was....where our apartment used to stand, a giant black lion stood upon the wreckage.

My husband was...

No.

Please...

For the love of Kami, don't let that warning letter from All of Love be true. Please.

I let go of Tsubaki, sprinting towards the lion and the wreckage of what used to be our home without a warning. Trying not to trip over my kimono, almost doing so many times, reaching out towards the wrecked apartment even as the smell of blood reached my nose-- as if the futile action would stop what was happening before me.

Tsubaki ran pass me, making it to the aftermath before I did. The black lion gone.

My pupils shrunk at the sight, I dropped the glass ink bottle, only vaguely aware of the sound of it breaking when making contact with the ground.

Tsubaki kneeled before my crushed and my dead husband, sobbing. There was so much blood. So much....blood.

Tears blurred my vision, I let them fall silently. I walked towards Tsubaki, placing my hand on his shaking shoulders. He looked up at me, I looked straight into his eyes, opening up my arms with a mournful smile.

He launched into my arms, I wrapped my arms around him as he cried his immortal heart out, his whole body shaking with the force of his sobs.

"Shhhh, Mother is still here, we'll get through this together...shhh,"I soothed in a hushed whisper, resting my chin on his head as I let him cry, closing my eyes.

My thoughts went back to the letter. So this was their decision...I'll respect it. I'll keep my faith in them and Tsubaki.

...I can only imagine what Sleepy Ash was going through right now.

I suppose I should be heartbroken over my husband's death, but I mostly felt nothing--besides the some aspects of our relationship I shared with my husband that couldn't be ignored and needed mourning-- I felt nothing.

Tsubaki head was buried in my chest, hands having a death grip on my kimono. I eased us onto the ground to make us more comfortable.

I hummed a lullaby to calm us both, which slowly worked its magic.

We remained that way until Tsubaki fell asleep with tear stains on his cheeks, head resting comfortably on my chest.

I ran my hands through his soft raven black hair, still humming.

Eventually, I took us away from the wreckage, to a friendly neighbors' house that was more than happy to provide us shelter until we held a funeral for the Creator.

"Rest in peace, dear."
