Lucy p.o.v

The train came to a stop in the town. I shake Natsu shoulder waking him up. He sat up rubbing his eyes in a cute way. Wait cute? Where did that come from????

“Come on” I said getting up. My bag felt heavy so I sat it down on the seat and open it to see Happy curled up in it. “Happy why are in my bag?” I asked. “Your clothes were comfy” he yawned. I picked him up by his bag and dropped him on the seat zipping my bag up. Pulling him into my arms I walked off the train right behind Natsu.

Happy got comfortable and fell back to sleep. “We need to get directions” Erza said with her mountain load of luggage. Gray who had lost his shirt and jacket agreed. Wendy was holding onto Charle who was also passed out like Happy.

I saw a old looking women in front of a vegetable stand. I grabbed the mission paper from Erza and walked towards her. “Excuse me miss. Can you give me some directions?” I asked.

“Travelers I see. Haven’t got any of you in a while” she said taking the paper. “I see, so the mayor has asked for mages to help” she said. “You see that big building in the middle of town. Head there and the mayor will see you” she said pointing at the building. I turn to get a good look before thanking the old women.

“Come on guys I got directions” I announced walking to the main path. They followed behind me without complaint. I notice Natsu staid in the back. I was really worry about him now.

We made it to the big building. It was bigger in person then far away. Erza walked up front and knocked on the doors. More liked banged on them. The door gave a big screeched as it was open. A young man answered the door wearing a suit. “Who are you” he asked. I held the paper up to his face. “We’re here on the request” I stated.

“Come in” he said opening the door. We walked in and gasped at the inside. The inside was extremely beautiful. The boy got our attention and led us to a room. We walked in and sat on the chairs provided for us. A simi older guy came in. His hair was a chestnut color mixed with grey. He wore a blue suit and held a briefcase as he sat behind the big round table.

“You are the mages from Fairy Tail who have accepted my request” he asked. “Yes sir” Erza answered him. I couldn’t help but feel someone glare on me. I turn my head slightly to see the boy from before staring at me. It made me uncomfortable so I moved around a bit.

I could see Natsu notice and gave me a raised eyebrow looked. I gave him a smile to stop him from pushing into the matter even more. “As you know people have been disappearing around midnight, and I don’t know what has been doing it. They also took my niece and nephew. That’s when I decided to bring in some mages for help” he said.

“Also people have been reporting that they have seen demons as well” he added opening the case. He handed Erza some pictures and sighed. “Please find the missing people and my family” he said. “Leave it to us” Natsu said finally speaking up. Happy stirred in my arms as I totally forgot he was in my arms.

“You can stay in the guess rooms till around the time you need to leave” he said. “Thank you” Erza said. “Jacob led them to there rooms” he said. The boy walked over and bowed before turning to the door.

We got up and followed him.  Each of us got our own rooms. I looked down at Happy before turning to Natsu. “You want to take him” I asked. He nodded and took the sleeping cat from me. I couldn’t help but notice him wrinkle his nose up at me.

Once I was in my room I took a sniff of my skin. It smelt normal and not bad. What is up with Natsu?

I placed my bag on the edge of the bed and stretched. It was 8 p.m right now. Erza wants us to rest and met in the hall about 10:30 to plan and spread out. I sat on the bed and looked out the window. The sunset was really pretty at the moment.

I got this weird feeling in my stomach and groaned. My dream played in my head over and over. I closed my eyes and fought them to stop. When they didn’t stop I decided to walk outside. Opening the huge windows I stepped out on the ledge. I leaned against the railing and looked out over the city.

Maybe this job won’t be as bad as I’m thinking. The events with the strange guy also crossed my mind. What was all that about? I was still also worried about this mating season and why that guy backed down because of it. Could it explain why Natsu acting strange all a sudden?

My door opens causing me to freak out and turn real quickly. I could see the tuffs of Natsu salmon hair. I let out a sigh as he got all the way in. He looked over at me as I looked at him “Why are you here?” I asked.

“Just checking up on you” he said walking out on the ledge as well.  I turn back to stare out to the city. “Natsu are you okay” I asked. “I’m fine” he answered really quickly. I turn to look at him. He had sweat beading his forehead and he kind of hide his nose behind his scarf.

“Something is wrong” I said stepping closer. He took a step away making a pain stab through my chest.  “It’s nothing. I just have a cold” he said. I frowned fighting the tears wanting to show up.

“Luce are you okay” Natsu quickly asked. I walked back into the room and lay on my bed face down. I felt someone come closer to me, but I couldn’t trust myself to look up. I heard him let out a sigh of frustration as he sat by me. “It’s not you Lucy it’s me” he said.

“You been avoiding my smell why” I mutter into the mattress. “You remember that guy who said something about mating season” he asked. Do I really want to here this conversation?

I nodded my head not looking up. “Mating a season where we dragon slayers end up looking for mates. Wendy to young so it doesn’t affect her, but Gajeel will be affected as well but he has Levy” he said.

“So why are you covering your nose” I asked looking up. He face flushed a deep red color. “Well most female scents affect my nose. I don’t want to scare you if I lose control” he said. “Okay” I said. I was still confused and felt like I was in the dark still.

“It’s hard to explain” he said. “It’s okay. Just try to act more like yourself or Erza will question you” I said. I rolled over to where I was on my back. Natsu uncovered his nose and looked at me. I could tell he was fighting with his inner self not to do anything rash. Also why was he only doing this to me thou?

“Why am I the only one affecting you?” I asked out loud. “Well one because no one has claimed you and two it may be because were real close” he said. His eyes held confusion to his own words. I though the idiot was really dense, but this all sounds like I am his mate.

It all hit me to what I accusing him of. “Lucy I..” he began but the doors open before he can finish his sentence.

“Natsu, Lucy the demons strike early and three people are gone” Wendy yelled.
