youthful mornings and beaming
adolescents is what greets my
almond eyes as I rise from my bed
your body is limp from slumber
curled onto the blanket and cheek
pressed on a pillow instead of my
chest
the sunlight softly portrays the
faint constellations of stars upon
your cheekbones, flushing the
skin roseate as you too hum,
rising from the comfort of the mattress
you look dainty, even with your cheeks
puffy from the streams of aqua trickling from
the river of your orbs
even then you're pretty
you're the prettiest because
you show your vulnerability
and that's what should happen
