"All I'm saying is, if we add that green gentleman back to the setlist, everyone'll go nuts." Maya rolls her eyes, stealing a piece of lettuce from Sam's salad "Yeah, except it's not practical. It just doesn't match the rest of the set." Piper smirks "Then add more pretty odd songs to the set." Maya rolls her eyes again "Pipes you only say that because it means more flowers on stage." Noah laughs "That's true." Sam groans "Piper's right, less pyrotechnics, more flowers." Maya hits her head on the table playfully "Why am I even friends with you anymore." They all laugh, before Noah nudges Maya, nodding sideways at a group of freshmen standing and giggle, pointing to their table. Amelia groans, and Maya swats her arm "You gotta be nice. Publicity is publicity." Amelia glares at her "You're assuming they all work for tmz or something." She mutters. Sam and Piper laugh again.

When Maya and Amelia arrive home, Brendon's lying face-down on the kitchen floor. Sarah steps over him, cleaning the counter. Maya raises her eyebrow, placing the bass in bubble wrap on the kitchen table. Sarah shrugs "Can't finish a melody for a new song." she explains, before pulling Brendon up by his shoulders. He kisses her cheek before turning to the two girls "How are Gerard and Lindsey?" Maya nods "Super good, check out what Gerard gave me. Lindsey and I got most of it done last night. It's almost finished." She pull the bubble wrap off the guitar, revealing the patterned pink. Sarah smiles "That's so cool May. You're going to get amazing marks for that." Amelia returns from the studio "Has Ryan had a look at that melody?" Brendon shakes his head "He's trying to fit the lyrics in to what we've already got." Amelia nods "Okay, I'd get him to look at the bridge, it looks like his writing style more than your's." Brendon kisses her forehead "What would I do without you." He laughs and Maya rolls her eyes, glancing over the scribbled sheet music lying on the kitchen table. She walks to the studio, grabbing her acoustic before she begins playing quietly.

"I remember the day Brendon told me you were learning guitar." Pete, leaning against the door frame, laughs gently "Bass, specifically. But we were all so excited to see you play your first show." Maya glances up, dropping the guitar and running to the man, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug "Pete! When'd you get home?" She asks, talking into his shoulder. He laughs again, hugging her back "We flew in yesterday, really late. I was gonna come visit this morning but Saint's got real bad jet-lag and you were with Gerard and Lindsey." She shrugs "You could've come get me from school." Pete rolls his eyes "You're graduating in two weeks. I think you'll live." She groans, and he only laughs again, throwing Maya over his shoulder. She squeals "Just don't throw me in the pool, my phone's in my bra." Pete grimaces "Weird." She rolls her eyes "You're weird." He opens the door as Maya climbs back to the ground and Brendon raises his eyebrows "Pete we keep telling you, your back's not what it used to be." He mutters, and Pete rolls his eyes, groaning and sitting on the floor next to Amelia, Maya and the dogs. Bronx leaps over the sofa, tackling Maya and Amelia in a hug. Maya throws the boy into the air slightly "Bronx! How are you little buddy?" Bronx grins proudly "I got everything right on my math test a few weeks ago." Amelia tickles the ten-year-old, before he sits between them, calling Bogart over. Pete rolls his eyes at Brendon "Like you can talk, urie." Brendon rolls his eyes back, opening the fridge door "What's for dinner?" Pete jokes, and Sarah laughs. Brendon shrugs "Girls?" Amelia wrestles with Maya for a moment to determine who decides, winning, she looks to Bronx who nods "Tacos!" She shouts, and Maya shrugs "I'm cool with that."

They eat, Pete and Bronx stay until 9, when they leave only after Pete throws Maya in the pool, pushing Amelia in after her.

Sarah walks into Maya's room, still the same black walls as when she moved in, and sits on the end of her bed. Of course the walls are covered now in photos, thinner neon tube lights framing them, and signed guitars, merch and many, many tour shirts. On the left side of her wardrobe door hangs her death of a bachelor tour jacket, next to it the bloom jacket from Fall Out Boy. Sarah sighs "It's crazy how much you've grown up." Maya groans "Ugh, tell me about it. I'm dying here, I'm about to graduate, god damn." Sarah laughs "I'm proud of you may. You've worked so hard for so long." Maya smiles now, leaning forward and hugging her mom "I love you mom." Sarah smiles gently, hugging her back "I love you too Maya."
