Invisible Strings

Chapter 4

Kai POV

It was almost midnight but I still can’t sleep. I was thinking about what happened this day. This day that made my heart race again. This day that bought me into a lot of confusion. Is it really our fate? To be honest, I was really scared when I suddenly appeared here. But the moment I looked at her eyes, I felt deep within me came into life. I don’t know what it is. But I’m sure that it gave me the feeling that I should never leave her side. I acted cold to hide my unusual feelings. Well… I think that no one here believes in love at first sight. Before I came here, I don’t also believe in those sayings and fairytales. They’ll just give you shit. I was always alone. I hate to see people being lovey-dovey to each other. It makes me want to puke. I don’t want to feel loved. But being around her… being with her… opposes my beliefs. Should I just accept these sudden changes?

3rd Person POV

Minhee woke up early and saw the three still sleeping peacefully at the floor. Sehun was mumbling something, Luhan cutely cuddles with the pillow, and Kai… Minhhe’s face instantly turned red upon seeing Kai half naked. *what the heck is this guy thinking?!* she mentally exclaimed. She went to her closet and took her largest shirt. She carefully walked towards Kai and shook his shoulders. “what?” Kai asked as he slowly gets up.

“p-please wear a shirt.” She said while blushing. Kai just smirked and took the shirt from her hand. “That’s a bit unexpected for this early in the morning.” She mumbled and shook her head. She made her way to her bathroom. She was about to enter when someone hugged her from behind. She stiffened.

“good morning~” Sehun beamed.

“g-good morning S-Sehun.” He smiled and ran away. She finally entered and took a bath. Min Hee got out of the bathroom after an hour. She teleported inside her closet and took her gifts for the boys. She walked to them and gave it. “you bought us many clothes?!” Luhan happily asked. “y-yeah. I got worried because you guys have nothing else to wear.” She said as she lowered her head. Sehun hugged her tightly. “aw~ our Master has a good heart.” He said and broke the hug.  Luhan was sincerely smiling at her. While Kai was just acting cool with it. “I think y-you guys should start taking a bath. The bathroom is all yours.” She said and gestured the way. She tried her best to give them a smile. Kai walked towards the bathroom but stopped beside her. “I like your smile.” Kai whispered before closing the door. She blushed and quickly covered her face. *did he just said what I think he just said? Wow Kai. You sure are a mysterious person.* Minhee thought. She then joined Luhan and Sehun to kill time.

 She looked at the new carvings on her hand. It looked beautiful. Having discovered her real powers gave her that unexplainable happy feeling.

After a few minutes, it was Sehun’s turn to take a bath. His jaw dropped as he enter her luxurious bathroom. He was at that state for a few seconds. “Minhee-ah! Your bathroom is daebak! I can’t wait to take a bath!” Sehun beamed like a kid. Minhee laughed at his childish act. Luhan intently looked at her and smiled. *aigoo. She’s really pretty. I hope it’s not forbidden to fall in love with my Master.* he thought. While Kai on the other hand just got out from her closet. He was wearing a pair of gray skinny jeans and a black shirt. He saw her laughing. *ugh! How can she make my heart race like this?* Kai thought.

After an hour, they started walking towards her classroom. “Uhm… Minhee-ah, I’ve been wondering… why are most of the clothes that you bought for us colored black?” Luhan hesitantly asked. She was a bit speechless. She doesn’t know how to say it. She looked at them. Sehun was wearing a pair of black pants and a striped black and white shirt. While Luhan was wearing an all-black attire. She took a deep breath. “b-because… I-I think it’s n-nice when guys are wearing black.” She said and lowered her head due to embarrassment. Luhan’s smile almost reached his ears. He blushed at her sudden confession. “then from now on, black will, and will always be, my favorite color.” Sehun stated as he placed both of his arms behind his nape.  *well, that’s Sehun.* Minhee thought.  But she still blushed with what he said.

They arrived at their destination. She asked them to tour around the campus while they wait for her. She doesn’t want them to get bored. But all of them refused. Including Kai which surprised her. “don’t worry about us Minhee-ah. We’ll be happy by just staying near you.” Sehun said and winked. She entered her class with a slight smile. Luckily, her that her classmate didn’t notice her different aura today.

As their teacher arrived, everyone stopped talking and walked towards their respective seats. Minhee doesn’t have a seatmate because she is called ‘cipher’ and thinking about it would always make her sigh.

(Cipher also means zero.)

“for today, I want everyone to spend some time with their own sidekicks. I want all of you to get to know them more. And after that, we’ll have another activity. This will be announced later on. Do I make myself clear?” Mr. Lee announced. We all nodded in unison. Everyone stood up and headed outside. Minhee followed and met with them. She looked at Kai. He always makes her curious about him. And she couldn’t wait to know his story. He caught her staring at him so he stuck his tongue out. “mehrong.” Kai tried to tease her but she just smiled. *ah! She’s torturing me! Aish.* he thought. Kai let out a sigh.

They decided to sit under the shade of a maple tree. “so… uhm… o-our teacher said that we should get to know more about each other. Is it o-okay with you guys?” she trailed off. They smiled at her. “okay thanks.” She said. She was thinking on who she will ask first.

“I want to know about Kai’s first.”
