i wish you had loved me how i loved you

technically, i have not seen you in months

we don't text and we don't call, not often, not really ever anymore

technically i am supposed to hate you

and yet i can't stop thinking of all the things
we could have done differently

if i had a second chance
i would start slow
i'd be so enticing
i would be so mesmerizing
i'd have you hanging on to every word
i'd be better, and prettier

more interesting.

we'd spend our nights laughing and dreaming
lost in each other
under the stars, and you'd never get enough
i would be so different from who i am now

i promise,

you wouldn't get bored of me this time.
