Angels and Demons - Chapter 3

Start from the beginning

"Fine," I said through clenched teeth. I hands were balled up into fists. I marched forward leading my

friends. I didn't even dare to look behind me.

We got our tickets and the first thing we went on was the Vominator. It's that ride that spins you

around and around. Hoping to make you puke. Only the guys puked though. What babies. "I will pick

the next ride!" C.J said. She scanned the area. Her eyes widened as they fell on the Ring of Fire. She

looked at me, and begged with her eyes. I nodded. "HECK YEAH!" I said running to be first in line.

The Ring of Fire is a small roller coaster. It's one big loop over and over. Sometimes the people

controlling the ride will leave you upside down. We had to wait a few minutes but was able to get on

the next round. We fastened our seatbelts. I put my hands in the air like I always do when I ride a

roller coaster. I looked behind me to make sure the rest of my friends buckled up. It's the law. I

mentally laughed to myself. When I was skimming I saw him. I started to heat up as I got angry.

"WOAH! Riley you're skin is so hot!" C.J said next to me. She was right. Not only was I burning up but

my skin was glowing a faint red. My hands clenched into fists. Then they caught on fire. C.J screamed

next to me. I couldn't calm myself down. Then out of the blue the ride started. My flames went out

and my attention was back on the ride. WOAH! Where did that come from? I bet that guy is doing

this to me. I will give HIM a piece of my mind!

The ride ended. He jumped off first. I walked up to him. My hands burst into flames again. I pulled his

shoulder hard enough and he whirled around to face me. "What the heck is your problem?" I said

yelling at him. I pushed him with my flaming hands and his coat caught on fire. People were gathering

around to watch us. "Uh... umm..." the guy said trying to answer me and put out his jacket at the

same time. My friends were all behind me. Scared looks written on their faces. As soon as I saw them

my flames went out. I walked to them. They all took a step back. NO! They are scared of me. I ran

threw the crowd. I pushed and shoved until I got to my bike. I kicked it to life and zoomed off

towards my house.

I made it there and was attacked by Kyle. He slung me over his shoulder without a word. "Kyle!

What the heck! Put me down!" I said kicking and pounding my fists on his back. I was heating up.

"Ouch!" he said dropping me. I fell like a rock. I looked up rubbing my head to see Kyle's arms were

red from holding me.

He looked down at me with wide eyes. I ran up to my room. Before I got there I ran past the living

room to hear the T.V. "A flaming girl at the fair attacked an innocent man," the news lady said. I

stopped and went to go see. I knew who she was talking about. Someone had videoed me and sent

it to the news. Great. I watched myself. I didn't know it but Kyle came into the room and saw what

had happened. I turned the T.V off and got up. I turned to see Kyle starring at me with wide eyes.

"Can we talk about this later," I begged him. He nodded and moved to the side so I could pass.

I ran to my room and locked my door. I crawled under the sheets. After a few minutes of thinking

my phone rang. I grabbed it and checked the Caller ID. It was C.J. I didn't feel like talking. I sent her

straight to voice mail. She called again and again. I put the pillow over my head and fell asleep.

C.J's P.O.V :

I screamed as Riley's hands burst into flames. Her faint red glow sizzled as she got angrier. She was

turned around looking at something. I turned around to see she was staring at the guy I saw giving

her that velvet box. What was he doing here? The ride stated with a jolt and Riley's flames went out.

The ride was about two minutes but it wasn't any fun as I worried about Riley.

When we got off the ride she started to walk towards him. What the heck was she doing? I

followed her but the guys grabbed my arms and pulled me back with them. They walked until we

were behind Riley. The circle of people grew bigger and bigger. Her hands turned into flames again

and she pushed the guy. His jacket caught on fire!

I shielded my eyes. She was so scary. We were all scared of Riley right now. She turned around to

see the scared looks on our faces. The flame burned out she stepped towards us. I was scared and

we all stepped back thinking she was going to burst into flame any minute.

Her face turned from angry to sad. She ran away. I heard her biked roar to life and fade away. I

looked up at the boys. "Is she going to be okay?" I asked them. Mike looked down at me and nodded.

"I think so," he said sure of himself. I grabbed my phone and dialed Riley's number. "I just want to

make sure."

The phone line ringed waiting for Riley to pick up. Her voice mail came on. I called again and again.

But all I got was her voice mail.

I went home and flipped on the T.V. My eyes popped as I saw what the news was. The big story

today was Riley. Someone had actually video taped her. I turned off the T.V. I was going over there.

I rode my bike down the road. She's not going to ignore me. I zoomed down the road thinking

about what I was going to say. She's probably going to ask me why I backed up. I sighed. I wonder

why that even happened?
