London. The 1960's. Described as The British Invasion. It was the place to be.
A time that flourished in art, fashion, music and sexual liberation. You name it, they had it.
But under the glamour of it all (probably right under your nose,) existed the gangs. The drugs, the violence, the money laundering, the murder, You name it, they had it.
It was difficult to get away from it. Seemed like everyone knew a guy who was involved. Or they knew a guy who knew a guy. It was everywhere.
Most gangsters were more respected than police officers. But that doesn't mean they were liked. Once you had the respect (by any means necessary,) the like could come later. The conspiracy of silence was unanimous. No one wanted to be known as a snitch.
It was perfect.
Well, for a guy like Freddie anyhow.
