She The Truth (Title Will Probably Change)

Chapter 1

Today was my last day visiting my grand parents in Jackson, MS. I was sure going to miss them, but being a partner at a law firm meant I stayed busy. My name is Star Jackson and I was born in Jackson, MS. My grand parents raised me because my mother was a crack head and disappeared, and my father well... they don't talk about him, and since he hasn't been around I don't ask.

My grandfather Charles was in the U.S Marine Corps for 32 years, but got out once I was born cause he knew he had to take care of me cause my mother was no good, and my grandmother worked at the post office for all her life. My grandmother and I don't get along to well cause she thinks I'm selfish cause I won't give her any grandchildren. To me I am 26 years old, recently engaged like can a sis get married first than have kids geez. I love my grandmother though she taught me how to be a wife my fiancée Drew. How to cook, keep myself together, work and never depend on my man. My grandfather taught me how a man should treat me and never look back if they didn't.

My grandparents have been married for 40 years making them both 60. They had my mother when they both were 16 and two years later my grandfather enlisted into the military to take care of their only daughter Latrice Jackson. They got married two years after that. I was brought up as a average middle class child. I was very bright and was in all honors and knew by the age of 12 I wanted to be a lawyer, and my grandparents made me stick to it and for that I will forever be grateful for them, they put me through college and made me the woman I am today.

Currently I was making my grandparents favorite drink sweet tea, while my grandma was making some lima beans, rice and fried chicken with some corn bread. My grandfather was in his recliner watching the movie "Life" that was his movie.

"Star can you hand me my pan under the sink darling these knees ain't what it use to be."

"Yes ma'am" I said.

"They sure ain't" my granddaddy said while laughing. I shook my head and grabbed the pan for my grandma. I handed it to her then poured the sweet tea into the glass pitcher, and walked to my bedroom. I pulled out my IPhone and Face time my honey bear Drew. He answered in one ring.

"Hey beautiful, I can't wait to pick you up from the airport tomorrow afternoon. I miss your cooking, I'm starving without you" he said laughing. Drew was an amazing cook just like me, but being busy fixing up all these girls he rarely had time on his hands. Drew was like Dr. Miami, but he's Dr. Atlanta.

"I know daddy, I can't wait to see you a week feels like forever without you baby. How's work been? I dread going back I know I am going to be so busy."

"Work is crazy like always, doing a butt here, tits here, lipo there, I'm just glad you are all natural, and all mine you know I'm tear that ass up when you get back right?" he said smirking.

I laughed, "you are so nasty, but I'll be waiting." I heard my phone buzz and it was my boss, "Baby I'll call you back Mr. B is calling me I love you."

"I love you to baby, I'll call you later." With that I clicked over to see what Mr. B wanted.

"Hello" I said.

"Hey Star don't mean to call you while you are still on your vacation, but would you be able to come in tomorrow morning. I have a huge case that I personally want you to handle. I'll pay you for tomorrow and buy your plane ticket and everything, I really need you."

I rolled my eyes, but I knew it had to be something serious for him to add in all of that so I said, "Okay, but I want everything you promised me, cause you know how I am. I am in Jackson, MS so I need a flight from the airport terminal here tonight, first class of course and I want my money when I get into work.

"Sure no problem, I send you over everything when I get it done. Thank you so much." he hung up, and I shot Drew a message to update him on everything. I went downstairs to tell my grandparent,  of course they weren't happy about it. Especially my grandfather he hates when I have to leave, after explaining to them why again I went on the porch, and got in my grandmothers old rocking chair and looked out onto the beautiful sunset that was setting on my grandparents land. They had about 25 acres of land, and it was beautiful I can't wait to live here one day.

I closed my eyes and continued rocking I didn't even notice I fell asleep until my grandmother tapped me, "Baby come eat then go packed up so we can get you to the airport." I got up and checked my phone seen that my flight leaves at 10:45pm and it was now 6:10. I washed my hands, poured tea for each of us then we said grace, after that we dug into the food. After we finished eating I was going to help my grandma with the dishes, but she waved me off so I could pack. I started packing and was finished by 7:45. I had my bags packed and moved them into the living room where my grandparent's were standing.

My grandfather gave me a hug and kissed my cheek, "Star you know you make your grandmother and I very proud, you went to college, working and doing the best you can. I love you and call us when you land no matter what time it is okay baby?"

"Yes sir, you know I will and I love you to granddad and thank you so much, it means so much to me when you guys say that."

My grandmother hugged me and said, "Star you know we love you, and wouldn't mind grand-babies (I rolled my eyes) next time bring Drew, and I told you about that eye rolling one day them eyes going to get stuck."

"Don't bring that boy here." my grandfather wasn't to fond of Drew, but I think it is because he thinks he is losing me. His saying is that, "I am his number one girl" even though he knew my grandma longer.

"Oh pa stop acting like that. Drew is amazing to me" I said. He grabbed my bags and we got into his Sierra truck and headed to the airport. Once again we hugged and they told me to call them once I land and that they love me. I walked and got all my things checked and got on the plane. Once I landed I got my bags and called Drew, he answered on the first ring like always and told me where to meet him. I walked towards where he said he was and once I saw him I started running towards him. He started speed walking towards me and I jumped on him.

"Hey baby," I said kissing him

"Hey beautiful I missed you," he said kissing me back and gripping my booty.

"I missed you to." he put me down and grabbed my bags as we walked out of the airport. He opened my door and closed it than put the bags in the truck of his Range Rover and got in and we were off to our home.
