*Mike's POV*

"I'm sorry."

"If you were sorry we wouldn't be in this mess."

"You can't force someone to stay with you all the time. What if they ," Dustin coughed purposely, "want to be left alone?"

Left alone.

Left alone.

Left alone?

I made a confused face.

"Hello? Personal space?"

"B-b-b.."

But she needed me.

"Anyway," Lucas ignored my muttering.

And I needed her.

Lucas continued on, "Max is gone, got it? Maybe El's powers will drain from her and come back to El. With some courage and strength..we could do this. We just need to work together."

"What if some of us don't want to work together?"

"Then what's the point of the idea? I actually wanted to help for once? Is my plan too much to ask for..? Can we try? Please?"

Lucas has never been this..confident of our friendship. We can actually try to get El's powers back..just try.

"Ashes. She was burnt to ashes. Remember, man?" Lucas mentioned.

"Right in front of our eyes.." Dustin whispered to himself.

"It was my fault. Or partially my fault for her leaving. She didn't ever deserve to be treated like that by me. I know what I did was wrong. I'm sorry, man!" Lucas spat out. "I'm sorry."

"No, man." Dustin said, "it's no one's fault that this happened. She was just ashamed that her powers had been stripped from her. She was thinking she'd be weak without them."

"But she isn't!" I argued. "No matter what-she will always be brave. She always cares. Friends don't lie. Especially when it comes to how good of a friend she is. She's amazing, and if no one understands, I don't know what to say."

"I can't disagree," said Will.

"See?" I tried to break the moment of which Lucas and Dustin were eyeing each other which suspicion.

Lucas broke free of his staring and sighed loudly, "yeah. We get it. Friends don't lie."

*Eleven's POV*

Friends don't lie.

Of course they don't. Don't ever break your promises as a friend. Friends mean so much. Losing them hurts.

But there come regrets.

Powers don't define you.

Dumb telekinesis.

You can learn to be who you are without powers having to grow over yourself. Powers help when absolutely needed but using them all the time affects your mental and physical state. Sometimes it makes you feel like you're someone you're not.

^Somewhat inspirational ending to this chapter? Just felt better than a normal cliffhanger. It wasn't about what was going on around her but what was going on in her mind.
Hopefully this kind of helps people get more of an understanding that El is as powerful with powers as she is not. Like I stated in the chapter, powers don't define you. ~ Uhly ;)
