Ava's POV
I woke up like any other usual morning, bright and early at 6 am and headed downstairs to make breakfast for my still sleeping sister. I walked into the kitchen glancing outside at the dreary London sky.
My sister Lucy and I had moved here when she got accepted to University. Which was 6 years ago. Our parents are originally from London and our older brother has lived here his whole life.
You see 26 years ago my parents got accidentally pregnant with me and had to move to America for my father's job. My 18 year old brother Greg stayed here for college and ended up becoming head detective at Scotland Yard.
He visited us a lot and we visited him too, so we had grown up knowing each other well. My sister and I are what they call Irish twins. We were born in the same year but I was 11 months older than her. We grew up as best friends and when she got a scholarship for college and I didn't I knew I still had to move here with her.
My parents couldn't pay for my education and I didn't have enough money for it either so I skipped the education. My brother knew I always wanted to be a detective and that I definitely was smart enough to be one so he gave me a job. I was his personal assistant and helped him on his cases.
Of course as soon as Lucy graduated from Uni she got a job at Scotland Yard as a Lab Tech. And it was her first day today. Wait! It was her first day today! She's going to be late. "Lucy!" I yelled loudly up the stairs and down came my little sister.
Her strawberry blonde hair was pulled into a tight bun and her cardigan and jeans were covered by her new lab coat that hid her tall and slender frame. "I'm up and ready 'little' sister." She said nudging me, standing tall so she could show off her 5'6" height. She Smiled at me her green eyes sparkling.
"Well that's a first. Breakfast is on the table. I'll be back down once I get dressed." I said smiling. I walked up to my room and started to get ready. Unlike my sister I didn't have to dress to specific protocol. No long sleeves, high necklines, or loose pants for me.
I quickly changed into a pair of dark skinny jeans, a loose sweater and some high heeled boots. My blonde hair was curly and fell around my face. Unlike my sister I put on a fair amount of makeup and grabbed my fashionable trench coat before walking downstairs.
Lucy was stuffing a piece of toast in her mouth and mumbled to me "go get a taxi I'll be right out."
I rolled my eyes and walked outside trying to get a taxi. As soon as one pulled up Lucy came running out and locked the door to our flat. She jumped in the car "where to ladies?" The driver asked looking back at us.
We both looked at each other and in unison answered "Scotland Yard."
