When will I ever learn?
That I was never meant to fly
Down at the bottom is where I belong
In the deep dark void of the forgotten ones
The once pure white wings now clipped and tamed
The belief of a tomorrow is now dancing on shattering glass
Struggling to get back up with my damage heart
When will my broken song reach their ears?
When will my worn down story open their blind eyes?
A cage of the unwanted is where I reside
I need to escape now before I fade away
Banging and shaking the door of rusting iron
A key to the heart was what I needed
An object long forgotten
A key to the soul is what I lost...
Show me the meaning of love
Is it something I can touch and hold?
Can I encase it and never let go?
The tears of time flow down my cheeks
Crystals and diamonds layering my eyes
Maybe in another lifetime, I will live on

The word known as hope does not exist in my world of sand and glass
