I am not a reflection.
I am not the person I see in the mirror every single day.
I am something more.
I am more than what a reflection is telling me I am.
I am different, that, is blatantly clear.
HOWEVER.
MY reflection is different from the mirror's reflection.
MY reflection reflect's what is destined to be and what lies on the inside.
...
The mirror lies.
To everyone.
Even you.
And yet...
People say the mirror tells the truth.
But I refuse to believe that an object can portray what is truly meant to be.
The mirror is not sentient.
The mirror has no compassion.
The mirror is something that we can't listen to.
Because a mirror.
An object.
Cannot sense soul.
It cannot sense you.
It only shows the parts of you that are not truthful to what is inside.
So why do we listen to the mirror?
To that, I do not know.
It just confuses me.
Why let a mirror tell you what you are
When you create yourself along the way?
Sure, we are born with things.
Cough cough.
Genitals.
Biological Sex.
Sexual preferences.
I get it.
But why do people say:
"Be the way you were born to be"
As if those in which were listed are potentially bad?
For example
Say I am homosexual.
If we were being true to that statement
"Be the way you were born to be"
I would remain gay.
Or if I was born in the wrong body
And I was born to be a man
But I was born a woman
Then.
I would create a path that led me to be who I was born to be
A man.
Not a woman.
...
And so the mirror lies.
Because it does not understand.
It is misinformed.
And it will remain that way.
And that is why we must stop listening to the mirror's reflection
And listen to our own reflection
Because we create what is not already present.
We create our reflection
In some ways more than others.
Therefore.
I am not a reflection
I AM MY REFLECTION.
