*Authors Note: This is set in an alternate universe.*
In a small suburban area, just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, lies a wizarding school filled with kids of different powers called, the Wizarding Academy for the Naturally Dangerous Students aka W.A.N.D.S. It's impossible to find unless you're a Nock or a Sprit. A Nock is a male of any age possessing even a hint of magic and a Sprit is a female Nock. The path is blocked off by thick thorns that only move if approached by a Nock or a Sprit. The thorns are impossible to cut down and if you try, they get angry and grow thicker. The thorns are the guardian of our school. Because of them we have remained hidden and unknown for 100 years now. The first of our kind thought nothing of their abilities and never feared showing the public what they could do. Unfortunately, they were burned alive but because of them, we now know better. Because of them, our kind has grown to where we are today. We, are safe, we are free, and we're able to do as we please and not be judged.
Now, I don't know who you are, or how I acquired you but I'm going to assume you're one of us. Ploon minds don't travel like yours so I know you're from inside the thorns. Honestly, you're very calming so I'm not too upset by your presence. Plus, I have nothing to hide. So, my name is Natalia Rose Cromwell. I'm 22 and in my third year. I'm the class pet and I have yet to find my section. My abilities are not done developing, I have not found my limit, and I don't just do one thing...I do a little bit of it all. I'm sensing your name starts with a J so, to me, you'll remain J until I can figure out your name.
*riiiiiiing*
God, that bell is so loud. At least it means we can go in to the field and practice. I make my way outside, watching the kids slowly gather in to their groups. You have the herbatonics, they specialize in plant life. They are super in to natural, like wake up and go to school without even pausing to brush their hair. Then there are the solarlusters, they gravitate towards the sun. They're pretty warm hearted. The hydromaniacs are pretty cool, they could live in water, literally. They tend to just go with the flow of life. The windlulls, well, can control the wind. They're pretty lighthearted. The pyrosectors manipulate and create fire, also they're extremely angry. Be careful with them. You have the dirtellers who control the ground. They are very hard headed. If they disagree, they disagree and there is no way of changing their point of views. Then there are the telepathics, they read minds and futures. I hear they do well out in the world. There are also the controllers who can control more than most. They can move objects, themselves, and other people through the air. Last, but not least, are the emotionals. They feel what you feel, they know your pain, and they can make anyone's mood change. I hear that, mentally, that's the hardest to sector to be in. They're all so sweet and they comfort others in their time of need.
Every group has a leader, someone who is in their eighth and final year. Someone who has been well trained and who knows not to abuse the others. Someone who can set a perfect example. Gosh, I wish I had that, but I don't. I'm "undetermined". So, here I stand, in the corner of the field unsure of what to do. I look to the pyrosectors to see them lighting their fingers. The controllers are playing with leaves. Pyrosectors begin working with the windlulls to create fire tornados. I stand here in the corner looking like an idiot with no idea what I should do. Relax? Why relax?...Alright! Alright! I'll relax! You relax too, J. I close my eyes and slowly relax from head to toe letting all my worries float away. I slowly sway my head from side to side while I wiggle my fingers and toes, feeling myself fully relax. I hear the field suddenly go silent. I slowly open my eyes to realize I'm a good 20ft off the ground... I can see for miles... It's so gorgeous! I look down to see the teachers are watching me and taking notes, discussing something. I look down to see a patch of flowers blooming. I notice the wind has picked up and my hair is freely floating.
