"Hey, she does a lot for you." Jeremy said again, giving Justin a warning look. I couldn't help but smile, even if Justin was an international superstar, his father still treated him as any other kid.
"I know Dad, but it's always this big production."
"I think it's nice," I said, sensing the tension rising. "You are going away for a while, Justin."
"That's true, I won't be home for....a while." We finished up our meals, and were standing in the parking lot, finishing up our conversations.
"Well, it was great to finally meet you," Jeremy said, giving me a hug.
"It was great to meet you too! Hopefully I get to see you soon." I said, smiling. I really like Jeremy, he seemed like a good guy.
"I might stop by the party," he said.
"Okay, well see you then." Justin said goodbye to his Dad, and then he grabbed my hand as we walked back to the car.
"Here you go, princess," he said, opening the car door for me and helping me in.
"Thank you, kind sir," I said giggling. Justin shut my door and was walking around to the other side when Julia climbed into the back seat.
"Nice try, but he's still going to end up coming to me," she whispered in my ear. I pretended to ignore her.
She was silent the whole ride, surprisingly. When we got home I found out why.
"She's asleep," Justin said, looking back. "Her house is only a few doors down..." He looked at me sheepishly.
"Oh no way, wait a minute." I leaned over him and honked the horn, loud. She woke with a jump. "Goodmorning sunshine! Time to go home."
She grumbled, getting up. I couldn't help but laugh. "What are you laughing at?" She snapped.
"Your hair!"
"Very funny."She gave me a look. Whatever Barbie, wait until you see your hair, I thought.
She got out of the car and she walked over to Justin. "I had a great time! Tell your dad, thanks again." she said, hugging him. When he pulled away, she went in for the kill.
That. Bitch. Kissed. Justin. On. The. Lips. She was going down.
"You bitch!" I screamed, grabbing her hair, and yanking her away. She turned towards me to shout something back, and I punched. Hard. In the face.
"My nose!" She screamed, her hands flying up to her face.
"Don't worry, you can always get a new one as fake as your personality." I said. "Now listen, hunny, you just kissed my boyfriend. If you ever come near him again, I will make it my goal to ruin your life. And don't think I won't, I come from Boston. Women there know how to fight. Now, go home, with your tail between your legs, and never come back. And, your story is, you fell, on your stupid stripper heels, and broke your nose."
"This isn't over," she said, walking away.
I looked at Justin, who's mouth was gaping open. "You're gonna catch flies like that," I said, laughing a little bit.
"I don't know if I should be scared, proud, or mad. Scared that you can do that, proud that you stood up for yourself and our relationship, or mad that you just punched my oldest friend."
"She kissed you. Can you not see she has been trying to take you away from me all day?"
"But I wasn't paying attention to her, Elena, your my girlfriend and I know that. Julia tries to get with me everytime I come home."
"She kissed you," I said, in a small voice. He stepped towards me.
"I know, so that's why I'm not too mad that you just did that." He said, taking my arm and pulling it towards him. I had been cradling it against my chest without realizing it. "Can you move your fingers?" He asked, and I tried. I cried out in the pain. He sighed, running his hands through his hair. "Get back in the car."
"Why?"
"Because you broke something punching Julia, and you probably need to get a cast on it." He helped me in the car, which was diffucult because I wasn't able to use my hand.
"You're always breaking something," he said, pulling out of the driveway.
"I am not!"
"Yes you are," he laughed. "You broke some ribs, and now you just finally healed and now your probably broke your hand."
"Well I'll be proud to wear that cast," I said, laughing.
"Elena," he groaned.
"I won't tell people, chill."
We got to the hospital and explained the situation, and I had to get an x-ray. Three hours later I was in a cast for the next six weeks. When we finally stumbled back into the house, it was three am. I tried to get into my pajamas, but gave up. I couldn't button my shirt up. I had these really cute pajamas that had stars on them, and it had a button up shirt.
"Justin," I whined. "I can't do this."
"Here," he said, running back to his room. "Wear this," he helped me out on one of his old shirts, and tucked me into bed. "My little soldier is tired," he laughed, pushing the hair out of my face.
I mumbled something incoherent, and he laughed again. "I love you, do you know that? And she isn't going to change that." I nodded my head, drifting off. I was giving pain killers at the hospital. I felt him kiss my forhead and walk away, and then I drifited off into a restless sleep.
