"Nice to see you!" He said, smiling, "Gosh, it's been a while!" They had a catch up conversation and then we were seated in a booth. Somehow, Julia scooted in next to Justin and I ended up on the opposite side.
"Sorry," Justin muttered, shrugging at my looks.
"I think I'm going to get the salad," Julia said, not even looking at the menu.
"Why don't you get something more?" Justin asked, not looking at her.
"Some people should eat salads, it helps lose a few pounds," she said, darting a look at Justin and Jeremy, before settling her gaze on me, with a smirk.
Was this woman calling me fat? "I think I'll go with the ChickenParm," I said, naming one of my favorite dishes. Even though I am a vegetarian, one of the things I could never give up with this dish.
"Oooh good choice, I wish I could eat that. Too many calories for me," she was calling me fat. I hate this girl. After some dinner conversation, ending with my telling Jeremy about my after school activities, I excused myself to the bathroom, and Julia trailed after me.
"Isn't this dinner fantastic?" She asked me, and I reapplied my lipgloss and she washed her hands.
"Oh yeah, simply wonderful." I said.
"Okay, listen here Elena," she said, turning towards me. "I've been in love with Justin Bieber since I was five years old, understand? Just because you come in all of a sudden and take his interest, we have a history together. And with Justin coming home more often, there's no way we won't start something up again. So you may as well say your goodbyes now, because he won't be yours for long."
"Excuse me? We are in a perfectly good relationship, and no tramp like you is going to come in and ruin it!"
"A great relationship? Did he take your arm to walk to the car? Insist to sit next to you? Wait to kiss you before he came to help me? I don't think so. It's going down the drain, and you might as well accept it."
She walked out of the bathroom with more confidence then I will ever had. I was so shocked, I didn't know what to say. And in the moment of no words, tears always speak your true feelings. After crying for a few minutes, I thought about my real problem at hand right now. Do I leave? Do I suffer through dinner? What the hell just happened? And what am I going to do about it? I was still in the bathroom, I don't know how much time had passed. I could leave, but then I would have to pay for a cab and that would be expensive. I took a deep breath, and straightened up. I look in the mirror, and just laughed. My makeup was all over the place! I took my time fixing it, I need a few moments to look like I wasn't just sobbing in the mirror.
"Sorry about that," I said, sitting down again. "My mom called, she kept me on the phone for forever!" I said, picking up my fork. Dinner had arrived while I was gone.
"I was just telling Justin that we should all do something again tomorrow," Julia said, faking innocence.
"Oh, Justin I thought we already had plans to go to the lake? It's supposed to be really nice tomorrow." I kicked him under the table.
"Yep, I remember. Sorry Julia, it's just going to be me and Elena tomorrow. Maybe another day." He covered quickly without missing a beat.
"Of course, but I want to see you before you leave again," she said, smiling at him. Two can play this game.
"I think our schedule is pretty filled up. The lake tomorrow, family things the next day, and then we are leaving the next morning," I shrugged, "sorry, maybe next time."
She was silent, picking at her salad. "That's right, didn't Patti plan some big party? She was telling me about it last week." Jeremy said.
"Yeah, you know how she is." Justin rolled her eyes.
