I had a strange feeling about this mission. Infiltrate Endor and wipe out the rebels. The thought of us usually over powering the rebels brought a slight joy to mind, but it didn't fix anything. My partners and I were prepared for anything. We've been trained for things like this and been through things far worse. So this should be your everyday mission. My squad gets on the ship and we leave the star destroyer. As we are departing, I'm starting to get nervous, I feel heavy. I've never felt this way while going to a mission. I start to get worried, but I brush it aside.
" I need to focus." I say under my breath. I look at my partners and they all seem to be to themselves as well.
We brake atmosphere and are heading to the landing site. I grab my E-11 long rifle and prepare for landing. As soon as we land and the hatch opens, we depart and head for the base. Endor has huge trees and the ground is covered with bushes, shrubs, and many plants I haven't seen. As we get to the base, we have some bunkers off in the corner while the squad leader goes and talks to the rest of the troops deployed. Me? I went and sat down for a minute. My head was spinning and my mind was racing.
"Lets go scout the area, make sure we are the only ones within the area," says my squad member.
I reply, "Right behind you, one second"
It's one of the best parts about being a scout trooper. Scouting usually allows me to be to myself and think alone, but I had other with me this time. We are out looking and my sensors pick up something right quick than it's gone. It's never done this before. Out of no where a spear is thrown from the tree tops. It goes straight through my partners helmet and he falls to the floor.
"Return fire!" I exclaim to the rest of the group. I get cover behind a boulder. I hear no blasters being fired off. I come out from around the boulder with my gun ready. All I see is the lifeless bodies of the squad. I began to slowly back up and watch the trees. Slight movement here and there, still no clear target. As I go to turn around to run, spears are raining down and I go for it. I throw a smoke grenade in the direction I'm running, hopefully so when I reach there I will be hidden.
A quick split decision was made, and as soon as I hit the smoke I turned behind a rock.
"I'm not letting this get the best of me" I think to myself. I poke my blaster through a bush and watch the trees. Around a platform on one tree, small figures began to poke out from behind. I showed no mercy and shot all of them. The limp bodies just dangled there, so I left for the fort. When I got there everyone was leaving. I didn't notice that the battle already began. So I followed them and tried to reach high ground.
