Chapter 61 - Whose Babies Are They?

"Give me a full description." Kyle said and wrote down Ryan's description of the girl he had met at the bar.

"I wasn't sure if Harmony sent a friend to check me out first. She kept wanting me to drink, and I thought, ok, Harmony is nervous to meet a stranger and for me to drink would make me feel relaxed too. That's what I thought the girl intended from the beginning because she didn't really start talking until, I drank the second shot. After the third shot, I was listening to this girl say she wasn't Harmony, she was just using her picture. I was so confused and asked if Harmony was coming. She said no.

"I mean she was wearing the dragonfly pin, which is what Harmony said in the email she was going to wear to recognize her. She even went by Dragonfly Princess. Because of the pin I thought we had met in the online hotel. It all seemed so legit. I thought I was really talking to Harmony because she was answering questions for those posting on the site. I had no idea I was talking to someone else that was using the profile icon of the model Harmony." Ryan said pointing to Harmony's picture on the page.

"I was upset and didn't know what to think. I knew I had made a mistake. Then I started to feel guilty and considered leaving when I saw Jolene come in. I was shocked. I even thought for a minute that Jolene had set all of this up. It seemed like she knew I was there and might have followed me or something. Later, I figured she found out through my email somehow, or a conversation on the wedding website she visited the most. Anyway, after Jolene yelled at me, she slapped Harmony, or whatever her name is. I knew Jolene didn't set it up so I was confused again. I realized the girl I was sitting with was indeed who I had been talking to knowing I thought it was someone else." Ryan said and looked up at Kyle to make sure he was following his details to prove his innocence. Kyle knew he couldn't have killed Jolene, but he needed all the details first.

"I had six shots of tequila and it all hit me when I stood up. The world spun in my head and I almost fell on my ass. The girl told me she had all the money in the world and can make all my dreams come true. I sat back down because the alcohol had hit me, not because I cared what she said. But Jolene heard it, and after I had dropped down into my chair, Jolene slapped the girl. I was shocked. I've never seen Jolene hit anyone before. We played rough sexually, but we weren't aggressive to each other anytime other than that." Ryan said to explain then his cheeks turned red at what he just admitted.

"Then what happened?" Kyle asked urging Ryan on.

"Jolene stormed out. I got up and helped the girl to her feet then left to go after Jolene. The bouncer was going to call a cab for me but I mumbled something for I knew all I wanted to do was talk to Jolene. The air was cold and I remember stumbling to my car as if I were light headed. I sat in my car and called Jolene's phone. I knew she couldn't have made it home yet, so I left a message on an old machine Jolene had from her parents that still worked. I never heard back from her. Somehow, I ended up at my grandma's house, and woke up the morning still drunk. I didn't realize that the alcohol was that strong. I was embarrassed that Jolene had caught me doing something I shouldn't have done. She didn't answer when I tried to call again, but it was obvious she didn't want to talk to me. I decided I was going to let her cool down. It was when I saw the news that I panicked." Ryan rushed on remembering.

"I think I lost my license that night. The last thing I knew I had it at the bar, but I called the next day and nobody had turned it in. I have my wallet though, so I don't know if I took it out when I was drunk. I didn't pay for my drinks, the girl did so it had to have fallen out of my wallet and landed somewhere. I have to get a new one." Ryan started to mumble.

"Do you know a Donald Fisher?"

"You mean that dick she works with and is stalking her. He is constantly causing problems for us because he has a thing for Jolene. It is what most of our fights were about. Did that bastard do this?" Ryan exclaimed almost yelling.
