Why Does This Always Happen To Me?

Me and Roc have been best friends since we were younger. we basically did everything together.

Until one day we was sitting in my room watching tv.

I keep looking at Roc he's been acting so weird today. I don't know if I should ask what's bothering him or not. So I just sat there and I guess he felt me staring cause he looks over at me.

"What?" he asked me a little annoyed

"Is there something wrong you're acting strange today?" I asked him concerned

"No I'm not okay." he told me clearly upset

"why what's going on?" I ask him

"you know I love you right?" he asked me looking me in the eyes

"of course I know that and I love you too" I tell him while thinking to myself "what the fuck is going on?"

"no I'm meaning that I love you as a girlfriend" he says to me

"Roc you don't know do you?" I ask him

"don't know what?" He asked me giving me a confused look

I take a huge sigh before I talk.

"well since we was kids I've always loved you I kissed you when we was 6. You pushed me away and said that your mommy told you that girls have cooties. I ran home crying and didn't talk to you for three weeks you really hurt my feelings Roc." I say letting all that built up sadness out

"Chassidy I'm so sorry I didn't know and we was kids and I thought kissing was gross. But now I realize that I love you well not now I've known since we was 4 so Chassidy will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me with a huge smile on his face

"yes" I practically scream then I throw my arms around his neck and kiss him

"I'm sorry" he says not looking at me

I look at him confused.

"why are you sorry?" I ask confused

"cause I'm leaving I'm going away for awhile I'll be back in a year" he says still not looking at me

"why would you ask me out if you're leaving?" I ask as I start to cry

"cause I wanted the chance before someone else took you away but I got to go I love you bye" he kisses me

" I love you too" I say as I cry harder while I watch him walk out my room

he leaves and I curl up under the covers and cry myself to sleep
