The Beginning

There was a lot of missing people cases that didn't end up well. Most of it was unsolved and even though their families and friends still tried their hardest to find their missing someone, sometimes it still remained unanswered. There were lucky cases that even finding a body by the riverbank or dumpster was considered one. At least they had a body to mourn.

I looked out the window and there were still people at the street. Most of them were reporters, waiting for answers. The house across the street was never dark after what happened two days ago. They never left their house. They never let people in. They were just there. And just like those reporters outside the street, they were also waiting.

From most of what we knew, Olivia Swift went missing on the dawn of her eighteenth birthday. Her parents insisted that she had no enemy nor a boyfriend to run away with. But some of the people who knew Olivia, she's the type that didn't open up to her parents. She's like a rebellious daughter, only with their permission. While Mr. and Mrs. Swift insisted there's no boyfriend, there was definitely one. It's her most serious one. But Olivia was seen numerous times with different guys so one could not actually say which was which. And because of that, she somehow created a mass of enemies and jealous girls around her. So that's mostly contrary to what her parents where saying to the investigators and reporters.

Tomorrow would be the official start of the investigation. The people that Olivia interacted for the past seven days would be invited to the station and be questioned.

As I backed out of the window, I saw once again, the curtain on the second room at the top floor slid down. It's as if someone was watching. Olivia's sister Annika was back home with her boyfriend for the next three days. But they would not leave the house until they were invited and questioned by the police. No person would be left unasked, that's what everyone was saying. After all, a missing case was not something they had to overlook. Especially if the missing person left something for people to figure out.
