The beginning of summer, I had just spent the whole school year working out and training with this guy my mom hired. I was no longer the girl that everyone knew as "the fat pig" from tenth grade. The name made me shiver and my chest tighten. I slowly got up from my bed and walked over to the mirror.

I glanced at the stranger in the mirror and pulled up my night tee slowly. I looked and the tan colored stretch marks on my sides in memory of what I used to be.

I shook my head and pulled down the shirt not realizing that I was now crying. Great, I was fat and sad and now i'm skinny and sad.

I was not about to sit here and feel bad about myself. I have a great body now. "We are now Claire the hottie?" I glanced at myself, put my head in my hands and sighed. I began to strip to get ready to go to the beach with my best friends. They were all way too popular and skinny for me but, they were the only ones I felt able to look past that.

This is what I've been working on all year, my summer body. So why not enjoy it, right?

I started taking off my shirt when something felt strange. I felt like someone was looking at me. I turned my head to the right and looked right into the eyes of Zaire.

Zaire the player, Zaire the bad boy... Zaire, my bully. My eyes widened as I realized he could've been watching me the entire time. I ran over to my window and quickly pulled it up as he smirked and pulled his window up too.

"Were you watching me?" I asked horrified. He smirked and raised one of his dark thick eyebrows in confirmation. I smirked back realizing I didn't have anything to worry about. I had something on him and he knew it. "Claire." I was shaken out of my thoughts when my eyes made contact with the deep velvety voiced green eyed jackass.

"Yes, Zaire?" I asked unfazed. He looked me over slowly and menacingly, as if I were his prey and he was ready to attack. "You look good." And with that he slammed shut his window and pulled his dark blue curtains to the point where he was just gone. Although I didn't blush because I was a light brown, i'm sure I was.

After I finished getting ready for the beach in my yellow two piece, taking years to decide if I should wear it or not, I threw over a summer dress, grabbed my bag and ran downstairs.

My mom was in the kitchen dancing with my dad to the song of their wedding. I walked in and cleared my throat, "Hey mom." I smiled and kissed her cheek. "Dad, I wanted to ask you if I could borrow your car." I exaggerated on a 'please' hoping he'd get I was desperate.

"Of course Claire". He smiled and I hugged his muscular frame and kissed his pale white cheek.

I was adopted when I was two years old because my mom had died in a car accident and my dad, well... that's another story. I was half black and half white. Well, if we're being specific my mom was African American and my dad was Italian, that's where I get my brownish green eyes from. I guess that's one thing to thank him for. I loved my eyes, it was the only thing that I liked about me.

I thanked my dad again and quickly grabbed the car keys off the dining table. I ran out the house quickly and unexpectedly but expectedly I see Zaire cleaning his car. He wasn't wearing a shirt and had a joint sticking out of his plump cherry red lips. He looked over his shoulder and I just knew I was caught eyeing him. He just smirked, put out the joint and started making his way over to me.

I quickly tried to pick up my keys that may or may not have dropped while I was observing the bad boy next door and unlocked the door to my car. While trying to escape his sexy playboy ways I had the door partially open but, he was just too quick for me. He put his hand on the car door slamming it shut as my eyes shot to him. "What the hell are you doing?" I yelled. He smirked and bit his kissable lip.

Wait, what? But before I could think about my ridiculous thought, Zaire was leaning in. I stood there not knowing what to do until I realized he was sniffing my neck. So, I pushed him from near me and he just smiled brightly, he almost had me swooning. Almost. "What?" I questioned in his amazing smile. He just kept on smiling and I was starting to get upset.

"I was just trying to see if you smelled as good as you look." I hid a smile and tried to come up with a reply but I was stuck.

"I was right." He grinned a rare one and walked off. I have to tell Destiny about this, she is going to freak.

When I went to text Destiny, I noticed a text in the group chat between Zachary, Selena, Christy, Charlie and I. Our beach plans had canceled.

This day couldn't get any better.
