chapter twenty nine :: i feel like i'm drowning

CJ nodded. "Promise?"

"Promise." Josh confirmed. "To infinity and beyond?"

"To infinity and beyond." CJ replied.

Josh laughed lightly before he leaned over the console and began a sweet kiss. CJ let her hands cup his cheeks while Josh had his hands placed on her hips.

"Hey," Josh started when he pulled away. "Can we put this on hold until we get back home?" 

CJ nodded.

The pair got out and Josh grabbed their bag containing towels, sunscreen, chargers, and a change of clothes. CJ had an anxious habit of being overly prepared if something went wrong. Josh intertwined their fingers together as they walked around the house to the back, where he met up with his friends.

"This is my girlfriend, CJ." Josh introduced her to a pair of his friends.

They both offered out their hand for her to shake, but she only forced a smile and held onto Josh's bicep.

"Food and drinks are inside. Find a spot and chill." One of them, who introduced themselves as Hunter, told them.

CJ, not being one for crowds, quickly made her way over to an empty seat, pulling Josh along with her.

Josh pulled the sunscreen from the bag and put a bit in his hands. CJ knew exactly what to do. She closed her eyes as Josh began to apply it to her face.

"My baby doesn't need to all burnt up," Josh said. "Especially when she's already hot in the first place."

"Idiot." She mumbled as she smiled.

"My turn." Josh handed her the bottle. He then took his shirt off and turned around.

CJ squeezed some into her hand and began lathering Josh's back with it. "I gotta sure my babies don't get burnt up."

"Babies? Like, plural?" Josh questioned.

"Yes. Every single one of your freckles."

Josh scoffed as he shook his head. "I can't believe you think they're cute."

"I can't believe you think I'm cute." She replied.

"That's 'cause you are." He replied.

"And so are your freckles."

After she finished his back, Josh turned towards her. She began on his torso, running her hands over his chest.

"I think we both know you're only doing this so you can feel me up."

"Shh," CJ closed her eyes. "I'm enjoying the moment."

Before she opened her eyes, Josh pushed his lips to hers.

CJ kissed back to the delightful surprise, smiling through the sweet kiss. Josh wrapped his arms around her waist and let them settle and the small of her back.

"Not in front of everybody." CJ whispered as she pulled away.

"We have a lot to continue later." Josh said.
