Josh idly thumbed through the rack of CDs he had just restocked. His shift was over in a half hour and the store was practically empty. He walked over to the counter where Pete was sitting and watched as he absentmindedly scrolled through his phone.

A minute later the bell on the door made a ding and in walked a boy about joshes age. He had short brown hair and looked very unfamiliar. Josh knew everybody he went to school with whether it was personally or from seeing them around for the past three years. But this boy was... different for lack of better words that was the best way josh could put it. But there was something about him that interested Josh and he-.

"You know, you could go talk to him like a normal person. But I mean if you want to creepily stare at him from across the store then be my guest." Pete interrupted his thoughts. A light blush spread across Josh's face, had he really been staring that intently? But nevertheless he took Pete's advice and started walking to the corner of the store where the boy was flipping through different vinyls.

He picked one up, examining it and reading the back cover. He at least hoped that he had a good taste in music. "Hi, um." Josh was mentally kicking himself for being so nervous and awkward. "Im Josh. Do you need- oh hey, I love that album!" In his hands was Narrow Stairs by Death Cab for Cutie.

The boy smiled at him. "Yeah, they're actually my favorite band. Oh I'm Tyler by the way."

Tyler. Josh liked it, it suited the boy. "So did you just move here?" The question seemed super cliché to Josh but he just wanted keep talking to him.

"Um yeah, today actually." He paused for a second as he replaced the vinyl back on the shelf. "I actually lived here a while ago but I don't really remember it."

"Oh that's cool. I could show you around if you want." Josh really hated himself. He sounded like the most cliché cheesy romantic comedy you could think of.

But apparently it worked because Tyler then said. "Yeah actually could you? I kind of just started walking and I'm not sure how to get home." Tyler's cheeks turned a light pink out of embarrassment which caused Josh to grin a little.

Josh glanced at the clock. His shirt ended in fifteen minutes but he knew Pete wouldn't mind covering the nearly empty store alone for a few minutes. "Yeah, let me go grab my stuff and I'll walk you home."

Tyler let out a small thanks and josh left to the back room to get his backpack and skateboard. When he turned around to leave Pete stood in the doorway causing him to jump. "Jesus Pete, you can't sneak up on me like that. I'm going to leave a little early can you cover for me."

Pete smirked at this. "Wow Josh, moving a little fast aren't you." Pete replied. Josh hated how cocky he was but that was Pete. He had been like that since the sixth grade when they had met.

"Shut up I'm just walking him home." Josh said, lightly punching his shoulder.

"Okay have fun." Pete said as Josh left the room. "And use protection!" He shouted after him. Josh's cheeks turned a light pink as he approached Tyler.

"Ready?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah let's go." Josh replied simply and they exited the store.

A/N: Okay so I'm not sure how I feel about this chapter. Like I was writing it the other day and I had a really good idea, but then it all got deleted and I had to rewrite it. And now I don't really like how it ended up but oh whale.

Thanks for reading! Comment, vote and all that Jazz if you liked it.
