"malanie, are you ready to go?"my mom yelled from the livingroom, voice echoing off of the empty walls.

"yeah." i said sadly as i gave my room one final look, sign leaving my lips.

this house is the house i grew up in and i can't believe i'm leaving it, it's kinda heart breaking.

i have a brother but at birth we were separated, my dad took my brother and my mom kept me. she allowed my dad to take my brother because she said it would be better for him to grow up with a father figure. though, i still keep in touch with my dad and brother but it's only by phone calls, facetime, and sometimes holidays.

now here i am, packed up to move from la cailfornia to detroit, michigan with my dad and brother.

officially living with them.

lord, help me.

"malanie!" my mom yelled cutting my thoughts short, as i jumped a little.

"i'm coming." i yelled back, taking one final look at my room and closed the door behind me, sighing. "here i am."

the car ride to the airport was long but we made up for it with small talk, jokes, and how much fun i'd possibly have in detroit.

we soon arrived at lax and i looked at my mom as tears filled my eyes.

"i'm gonna miss you mommy."i said as a tear rolled down my eye.

"i know baby, i'm gonna miss you too." she said wiping my tears before glancing down at her watch."girl, you're gonna miss your flight."

we got out the car and got my bags, as i started walking towards the entrance but my mom called me.

"yes?" i questioned, turning to look at her.

"don't forget to call me and i love you, malanie. be safe."she said pulling me in a huge hug as i hugged her back.

"i love you too mom and i will, be safe." i said then we pulled away, as i gave her a final smile before walking inside, getting settled down and ready for my flight.

"next flight to detroit leaves in five minutes." i grabbed my luggage and got on the plane in a hurry hearing the announcement, i made it here just on time.

"goodbye hot ass la, hello cold ass detroit." I said to myself looking out the window as we pulled off, flight attendant voice fading.

thoughts ran through my head, about what it'll be like in detroit, who would i meet, and most importantly have my dad and brother changed.

"why am i so nervous?" i questioned to myself, before letting out a sigh and looked out the window allowing sleep to take over me.

once i got off the plane and was inside, i looked around and instantly spotted my brother and dad.

"blaze! dad! " i shouted catching their attention, as they looked like deers caught in headlights with widen eyes but nonetheless they ran up to me.

"hey lil sis!" engulfing me in a hug, blaze spun me around while greeting me excitedly as i smiled.

he placed me back down and i walked over to my dad, hugging him also."hey lil girl."

"pops, i am eighteen years old." i said straight facing him, before we all began laughing.

i turned around to get my luggage only for blaze to swiftly grab them, carrying them with ease.

"i got it lil sis." blaze said and once we got to the grey range rover, he placed them in the trunk before we were off on the road.
