Chapter 1 • A bird and a bear

"Raven? Can you hear the words that I'm saying?"

I look up at the doc. She's real cute. She's probably one of those girls that went through high school admiring the popular kids and then got her chance with the 'bad boy' and got her heart broken. Then probably went to college to be psychiatrist thinking she was gonna change the world and now the silly girl was here. What a shi tty backstory.

"Yes doll face I can hear you. You know I'm not too sure I need to have these hand cuffs on. Like are y'all really too afraid to be around a little girl like me?"

"Just safety precautions Raven. I wanted to start with asking you about Ajax's where abouts but I'm going to assume even if you did know you wouldn't tell me. So how about we just get right into it and see if you've made any progress in your mental state."

I give her a laugh and watch her reach into her desk and pull out a couple of pieces of paper with black splatters and shapes on it.

"I'm going to show you each of these images and I want you to tell me what you see, okay?"

I just stare at her and let her do her little thing. She picks up the first image and holds it up in front of me. I admire the picture and say, "oh that's a goodie, miss whatever," I intently stare at the piece with a big grin "hmmmmm... it's not a cat. Oh! I've got it! that's for sure you laying in a pool of blood." I give her a cheeky smile and nod for her to pick up the next one.

She looks scared half to death as she shakes showing me the next image. "Hmmmm that one is not as good. That's just a picture of a teddy bear holding a knife. What's the next one? This is so fun doc!"

She throws the pictures down and I frown. "What's up, doll face?" I ask. She mutters something I can't hear and I just smile at her exhaustion.

She rubs her temples and then says, "Where is Ajax, Raven?" I laugh hysterically this woman is as crazy as me if she thinks I would ever give her a hint to where he was. But a little game is always fun. "He's at your house of course. He's waiting for you doc."

She looked terrified but I just shrugged looking around the room. She then pushed herself from the wooden desk and walks straight toward me. She comes face to face with her biggest nightmare and stares at me like she's going to really do something.

I give her a strong smile and as I was about to insult her breath I felt a strong sting assault my face. Doc hit me.

I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't think doc had it in her. I turn my head right back to her seeing her shrink at my gaze. She should be glad I was cuffed. I might not have been close enough to hit her but she was still in spitting range so I spit on her face annoyed that was all I could do.

I needed Bear to hurry up and save me.

She screeches and wipes off this spit from her face. "Okay bi tch. You're obviously a lost cause and are completely insane. But I don't even care anymore. What I care about is getting my job done and right now, my boss wants Ajax so... tell me y'alls little love story. Tell me how y'all met and how he took a good girl and turned her into the freak show that is sitting right in front of me."

"We're all freaks baby you just haven't released your mind to figure out exactly who you are yet. I bet you stay up at night wondering what you're doing and where you're going. I bet you can't even look in the mirror. Can you doc? " She was speechless but I didn't care, I continued, "but if it's a story you want I'll give you the beautiful love story about a little bird and a bear."
