I walked out of the cafeteria floating on a cloud.
Emily and I had clicked instantly, and I felt that if she liked girls, we had a pretty good chance together. She was super cool.
But I was also worried. Daisy had looked pretty upset when Emily and I had gotten on so well. Maybe she was nervous because she thought that Emily and I would be best friends, or that I would let her into the circle. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.
She was sweet and all, but she's not circle material. You've gotta be weird and wacky and cool and fun and a party animal and "feelings" is not in your vocabulary to be in the circle. Emily is your standard shy goody-goody.
I guess they're serious when they say opposites attract.
I walked into Social Studies to see Emily sitting in my usual seat.
"Hey, punk," I grinned. "That's my seat."
Emily stood and wordlessly grabbed a seat next to me.
"Hey, it was a joke. You can sit here if you want." I offered the seat back to her, but she shook her head and smiled politely.
I sighed and rolled my eyes playfully.
She giggled.
Gosh, you gotta love her!
But why do you have to love her?
