"For Christ's sake," she mumbled while opening the safe that held her client's attention. She didn't know the guy's real name, but he went by the alias of 'Penguin'.
She didn't care about him, though. She was just going to give the man what he wanted then she was going to never speak to him again. Just like almost all of her clients.
Just as the safe cracked open, so did the door behind her. She whipped her head to the left and saw a man dressed up all in black body armored suit, two pointy ears at the top of his cowl, and a cape draped behind his shoulders.
Batman.
"Behind you, big boy," she sweetly spoke as an armed henchman came running at Batman. She counted her blessings, if it weren't for that stupid henchman, she would have gotten in a hand to hand combat fight with Batman, and she wasn't favoring her odds.
Leaving everything about being stealthy behind, she grabbed the code-card and made a dash for the elevator. She yanked her metal-magnet from her waist and jumped to the elevator shaft's railing.
She was thankful for the now unconscious henchmen's destruction of the elevator that was supposed to be there, the cubic cart now all the way at the bottom of the building, exposing the metal for her gadget to grasp onto.
As she began 'flying' to the top of the building, the elevator doors behind her closed, stopping Batman from following her. "Bye-bye, big boy." She smirked.
She made it to the top of the skyscraper and rolled against the asphalt to absorb the shock of her speed. Just as she was about to run of the building to her freedom, a large body stood in her way.
Spoke too soon, she thought to herself as she stood in a fighting stance. There was no way she was getting off this building without a fight. He knew it, too.
He threw the first punch, a fatal mistake in her book, but with his skill, nothing seemed to be categorized as a 'mistake'. She skillfully dodged his punch, and returned the favor with a roundhouse kick to his stomach, but he evaded every kick, scratch and punch she threw him.
Now it was his turn to play offense.
She didn't see it coming, not even from two feet away. His right gloved hand collided with her left eye, breaking her red goggles and most likely leaving a black eye in its place. There was a small moment of stillness between the two. Before that, neither of them had laid a scratch or bruise on the other, but now the tables have turned.
She took the moment of calm to even the odds with a scratch to his right cheek. He didn't even try to block it.
She turned around and bolted for the helipad, her escape on the tip of her tongue.
But he just had to be faster than her, huh?
Their fight had resumed, now a news helicopter flying above them. Neither of them paid attention to it. Hardly anymore kicks met their target, but a rough punch to Catwoman's abdomen aggravated her, causing her to attach the purple metal-magnet to Batman's gauntlet, sending him flying to the nearest piece of metal.
"Bye-bye for good, Batman," she growled while he hit the purple magnet off his arm. Brawn over brains it is for him.
One of her foot reached the edge of the helipad, but Batman's grapple attached itself to Catwoman's back and her body was flown over to Batman.
Her back hit the concrete with a crack, something in her small backpack was most definitely broken. "Eugh," she groaned as she closed her eyes for a microscopic second.
Batman was on top of her now, one of her legs tucked underneath his body while one hang loose on the outside, a big mistake he realized now.
She pushed his body off of her, giving him a good kick to the shoulder. He was fast to recover and somehow got her small backpack strewn up against a wall with a batarang holding it up. The chip was now in his hand, too.
"Shit," she mumbled. If she didn't get this to the Penguin by tomorrow, he'd have her head. And she quite frankly liked her head where it was.
Just as their fight was about to continue, a quad of cops were now shooting at the two, one of the bullets filled Batman's right side with lead.
"Hold your fire, dammit!" Lieutenant Gordon exclaimed as Batman knelt to the floor in pain. This was it, this was her legitimate chance at escaping.
She bolted for the helipad for the third time that night, hoping that this would be the last Goddamn time she ran towards it.
Freedom, alas, she exclaimed to herself as she made a leap off the helipad. She spoke too soon, again. Electrical shocks ran through her body as one of Batman's gadgets touched her body. She fell unconscious and began free falling to the cold, hard floor.
She would surely die if it weren't for Batman.
He dove off the building in efforts of getting ahold of the cat-like-woman, and unlike Catwoman's many attempts at escaping, he succeeded.
He used the metal-magnet gadget from the Cat, and held onto Catwoman with one hand and the gadget with the other. The magnet struggled to keep the two from falling, trying it's best to slow down their downward decent.
A slanted ledge came barreling their way and it couldn't possibly be good. Batman lost hold of Catwoman and the gadget, but held onto the side of the ledge as Catwoman's unconscious body slid off the side.
With his quick thinking, he grabbed hold of one of her arms and held the two of them up. The harmful yank awoke Catwoman from her 'slumber' and she nearly screamed her head off as she stared at the cars below her.
"Tell me who sent you for the chip or I'll drop you!" Batman's voice was distorted, loud, and strong, shaking Catwoman to her core. She just brushed off the feeling.
"You won't do that," she slyly commented while reaching for his glowing blue grapple gun, "you're not that type of guy." A smirk formed on her red lips and he pulled her closer to him.
Their two faces were centimeters apart, the two having a stare down of a lifetime. That's when she ripped hold of his grip and grappled to a nearby passing monorail.
She giggled as she swayed from left to right while traveling along with the monorail. "Bye-bye, big boy," she whispered while smiling. "Bye-bye for good."
