Daylight POV

Herlane has been acting weird this past week in school as if she knew my secret about my abilities and Caleb. She didn't know me like that. Lately, I've been getting this sense that she knows about my secret life. But she's supposed to think I'm just a normal teenage girl just like her. Caleb kept calling me this morning but I couldn't pick up because I'm in class. I really wanted to talk to him today. This morning Herlane wasn't here. She's never late to school. She's usually in school early in the morning. But today she came in late. There was something different about her in school. She was wearing a scarf that was covering her neck for some reason. What is going on with Herlane? "Hey." Herlane said as she sat next to me. We both had science class together which is also our last class of the day. "You okay?" I ask her. She paused before answering my question. "Herlane. Are you okay?" I ask her again. "Yeah. Totally fine. So are you coming to my place after this?" She ask me. "Maybe. I'll call you to let you know." I said. "Okay cool." She said. "So how's your boyfriend doing?" She ask me.  I never told her I had a boyfriend. I never told her anything about Caleb. " I don't have a boyfriend." I said. "It looks like you and what's his name.... Kale is getting pretty close." She said. She think I go out with Kale. Is she serious? "Kale, the guy with green eyes and loves science. Helena are you okay up there?" I ask her. "I'm totally fine. I thought you guys were.. never mind I was wrong anyway." She said. "Dame right you are. Me and Kale. I don't like him Herly." I said. "Don't call me that." She said. "Don't ever mention that again. This is the second time I had to explain this." I said. "So I'm not the first person to come to you and ask." She said. "No. Serious what makes you think me and Kale are a thing?" I ask her. "You two hang out a lot." She said. She's right we do hang out a lot. But he doesn't know about Caleb and my abilities. Just then Kale comes in the class and sits across from us. He waves at me and Herlane and we both wave back. He look a little different. I just couldn't tell the difference. "Kale since you came late to class can you tell us what this formula is." The teacher ask him. "Oh that's uhhm.. it's.. I don't know." He said. For a guy who knew his science this sure wasn't like him. Maybe that wasn't Kale. Who am I kidding? Maybe he's going through something that affecting him. Yeah that's all. "Well I'm partnering you guys in groups of two. So come to the front and I'll start partnering you all." The teacher said. She better not take me away from Herlane. "Kale your partner is going to be Henry. Wait no it's going to be.. where is she? Oh there she is Daniel." The teacher said as she put the stack of paper on her desk and pull her hair. "What!" I said. I wanted to be with Herlane. Why couldn't I be her partner just for once?"You both will sit on the left side of the room for now." She said. I sat right next to Kale. "Hey Kale. So how was your day?" I ask him. "Okay I guess. Do you really think we're gonna be partners in this class for the rest of the school year?" He ask. "Hopefully not. I already miss Herlane." I said. " I bet she misses you too." He said. I fell off the chair and he grabs me just in time. I didn't know why the hell I fell but the minute he touches me I could see him tied up to a pipe. His mouth is cover with a piece of cloth and his eyes they are glowing. There's a girl standing right in front of him with a bat in her hands. What am I looking at? "You okay?" He ask me. "Yeah thanks." I said as I got back on the chair. Herlane was paired with the basketball player. Which she has a massive crush on. "So what are we suppose to do?" I ask him. "Honestly I don't know." He said. This couldn't be the Kale I know. He knew everything well a bunch of stuff about science. He isn't Kale. "Oh come on you have to know. You're good at stuff like this remember." I said. "Okay." He said. I handed him a test tube and when my hand brushed him I saw his face with a scar on his chin. There was blood coming from his chest. "Kale." I said. "Yeah." He said. "Can you hurry up. I don't want to get a fucked up grade cause of your lame ass." I said. I knew that the real Kale would just know I was joking. "Jezz, you're a pain in the ass." He said. This proves that he isn't Kale. So where the hell is Kale and who the hell is he? "I'm not usually like this but your taking forever. Do you know it or not?" I ask him. "I don't think I ever seen this before." He said. "Yes we have Kale. Remember when we were.... Oh you wouldn't remember." I said. "Why would you say that?" He ask. "Because you weren't there who ever you are." I said. "What the hell is wrong with you Day.It's me Kale in the blood and flesh." He said. "Yeah like I believe that." I said. "Daylight I know that we aren't alike and are very different but you have to know it's me Kale." He said as he puts his hand over mine. "I don't know you. Whoever the hell you are you sure do look like Kale. I know Kale and you're not him." I said as I pull my hand away from his. "This is just for practice." The teacher said. "Uhhm can I use the bathroom?" I ask the teacher as I raise my hand. "Sure go ahead." She said. "Where are you going?" Kale ask me as he grab my arm. "Away from you and when I come back you better get this whole science project done." I said as I push his hands of my arm. I walked out of the classroom and into the hallway. Who the hell is that? Whoever that is this isn't the first time I met them. When I touched him I felt something familiar. I walked into the bathroom. I looked myself in the mirror. I need to find Kale. I close my eyes and zone out on everyone except for the guy who was pretending to be Kale. Then I was near Kale. "Kale are you going to tell me or what?" She ask him. "I don't know what you're talking about." He said. "Day tell me about her. Where does she live who are her friends?" She ask. I'm where Kale is. I open my eyes and hid behind a bunch of boxes. What the hell is going on here? I remember this place. Cherry is here. She had to be the one talking to Kale. She's such a bitch. "The truth is she's not coming to save you. She never will know you were gone." Cherry said. When I looked at her she looked nothing like herself. Of course she didn't want Kale to know what she really look like. A guy saw me and I grab him and kicked his gun out of his hand and knocked him out quietly. This is going to be fun. "She told you everything didn't she. You know Day need you for your smart brain after that you're nothing to her. She doesn't like you." She said. "Well you're a charmer." I said as I came out of hiding. "You're here." She said. I shot her and then kicked her. She grab my arm and slam me into the floor. "We meet again." She said as she put a knife to my throat. I stab her and kicked her then slam her into the wall. "Yeah we do like old times Cherry." I said as I finish her off. "Day you came. How did you know?" Kale ask me. "Well that just show how much I really know you." I said as I untie him from the metal pole. "I'm glad you came." He said. "Me too. We have to get out of here before the other come." I said. "How?" He ask. "Do you trust me?" I ask him. "Yeah." He said. "Then follow me." I said as I ran up the stairs. I grab him and jump through the glass window."You could have warn me." He said. "Yeah, but what's the fun in that." I said as I felt dizzy and my head hurting me. "Oh my God there is blood coming out of your nose." He said. "There is?" I ask him. "Yeah." He said. I can't use anymore of my power now. I guess I'll just have to walk to school with Kale."We have to walk." I said. "That will take us forever. How did you find me and how did you do that thing you did?" Kale ask me. "I'll tell you everything later. Right now we need to find out where we are." I said."We can't be far from the school." He said. "You're hurt." I said. "I'll be fine. Let's find out where we are." He said. "We're not going to school with you hurt like that." I said. Everyone would ask too many question. Second, how would I get Kale in the school when he has a look a like pretending to be him? "I was in a car. There has to be car somewhere." He said. "Kale I thinks it's best if we find it and fast." I said as I feel pain in my arm. "Are you okay Day?" He ask me. "Come on." I said as I grab his arm. We both walked into a gas station. "Stay in the line." I said to Kale. "Yeah,okay." He said as he stand behind a 6 foot men. I grab some snacks and then stood next to Kale. "Do you remember where she park the car?" I ask him. "They cover my face with a black bag." He said. "Just great." I said.
