Chapter One

"Goodnight Mr. Powell I'll see you tomorrow. And say hello to the family for me." I waved to my boss. "Goodnight sweetheart and day hello to your mother for me." He said with a warm smile. Mr. Powell is a 45 year old man with a wife and two kids. No doubt about it He is a handsome man but I see him more of a brother than anything else.

I walked out of the building, into my car and went home. That's mostly what my life consists of: home work then home again. I don't have friends so parting is not an option for me. Neither is a girls day.

Mama bird is calling. Better pick up. She's getting mad. Pick up the phone!

I pressed answer and put her on Bluetooth.

"Hi mom." I said turning the corner of my street. "Did you just get off of work?"

"Yes."

"Good come to my house now." Before I could answer she hung up. How rude. With a sigh I turned again and made my way to my parents house instead.

When I got there another car was already parked there. I wonder who's car that is. I got my purse and phone and got out of the car to the front door. Before I could even knock the door flown open. There stood my sister Amaya.

"Kaycee!" She screamed and pulled me into a hug. "Amaya!" I copied her and hugged her back.

"I missed you." She said pulling me in the house. "I'm always here just a call away." She smiled and hugged me again. "Kaycee come into the living room for a moment please." Mom yelled. Me and Amaya walked into the living room and I was greeted with my parents and a handsome man sitting on the love seat...okay?

"Hello Mom, dad and sir." I kissed my mom and dad on the cheek and shook the strangers hand. "Please call me Xavier." I nodded and turned to my parents.

"Was there something you guys needed because I want to go back to my baby." I said to my parents. Everyone gasped but Amaya she just laughed. "You have a baby!" Mom yelled and Amaya laughed harder. "Wha-no I mean my bed." I screeched. The man sighed in relief and I looked at him in confusion. Why is he relieved?

"Anyways hunny remember when times where rough for us?" I nodded for her to continue. "Well Xavier gave is some money to get us by for a few years."

"Is that why your here? How much is it I'll write a check." I said taking my checkbook from my purse. "I don't want your money." He said in a deep voice. "Then why you here?" I asked.

"Kaycee." Mom sneered. I shot her a sorry look and turned back to the man. "Well at first I did need the money back but now I need something else."

"Which is?"

"Marry me." I started laughing but when I saw everyone looking serious even Amaya I knew it wasn't a joke.

"I'm not marrying you." I said. "You don't have much of a choice." He snapped standing up. He towered of my 5'4 height. Probably 6'5. "Yes I can tell me how much we took from you and I'll give you a check." I snapped back.

"Fine your parents owe me fifity thousand dollars." I looked at him in shock. Fifty thousand dollars! What they did with all that money? "Well I don't have that much on my bank account yet but give me till next month and I'll have your money." I said shooting my parents a we'll talk look.

"Marry me or I'll call the police and sat your parents stole money from me. They will be in jail Amaya will get kicked out of school and you'll get fired from your job." My jaw dropped can he really do that? "I'll pay you next month." I sneered. "Now or your parents will never see the light of day again." Where am I gonna find the money?

"Please hunny." Mom said with worry in her eyes. I worked my butt off so I wouldn't have to see that look on their face ever again and now it's back.

"Yes. I'll marry you."
