"You gotta be fucking kidding me," Danielle whispered to herself while staring down at the piece of paper she just pulled from a cup. In messy handwriting, the name 'Philly Lester' and a phone number were scribbled down.

"Oh God," said the girl who sat right by her, "That's too bad." Danielle tried to put on a fake smile, "Well, I guess things happen for a reason. Not like I'm gonna die from one project, right?" She kept on this act until finally the whole class was talking about how excited they where. The thought of having to actually talk and work with Philly was enough to make Danielle want to scream. And that's exactly what she did.

"Does anyone want to switch?!" she yelled abruptly, which caught everyone's attention. She stood staring desperately that the rest of the class. A few people actually went to offer but stopped once the teacher said, "No switching, Miss Howell." Danielle sat back down and looked around at everyone with a weak smile and shrugged as if to say 'oh well.'

'That old hag is gonna ruin my life,' she thought while walking out the classroom. The whole assignment was to take the person you are assigned to and take two contrasting photos of them. That was all the teacher said, she never gave real instructions for any of her projects. "Art is about taking something basic and making it your own" is a quote Danielle heard frequently from her photography teacher. Which Danielle actually quite enjoyed. She loved to think up her own project and express herself in that way. Only reason she was dreading it this time is because thinking about the project meant thinking about Philly. Which is one of Danielle's least favorite things to do. So combining her least favorite thing with her favorite thing just made her feel cheated.

The whole day she kept re looking at the paper she received in class. Hoping and praying somehow it was changed or she read it wrong. While in the hallway she threw on the fakest smile she could and pushed back the thought of having to spend time with the school's nuisance. She was doing great up until she had to pass the very person she was trying to avoid.

"How's it going, Princess?" Philly mocked.

Usually Danielle would reply with a pretty good comeback but this time she was completely out of herself. She turned red and muttered back, "Don't you have classes to flunk or something?" This was by far the dumbest thing she could have said. It was well known that Philly was actually very smart and rarely got below an A. That's the only reason the school doesn't kick her out already. "Oh yeah, totally. And after that I'll go to church," the raven haired girl scuffed while rolling her eyes. Danielle mentally slapped herself and thought, 'I'm a fucking moron. Jesus Christ.'

Getting home felt like bliss up until she realized she had to contact Philly and tell her the great news. Danielle pulled out her phone and went to Philly's contact. What many people wouldn't know is that Danielle still had the other's number from the years she tried so hard to forget.

"hey. it's Danielle. I got assigned to you for the photography project. when can we meet?"

Danielle tried to act like she didn't care that Philly hadn't replied right away. She would look back on the message she sent and re read it over and over. Danielle's heart raced when she saw the three dots appear from the other end. She clicked out of the messages and turned off her phone, trying to act like she wasn't paying attention. The whole act Danielle put up was literally for herself. She refused to accept the fact she actually cared what Philly had to say and how long it took her to say it.

"Cool. I'm free this weekend"

For some reason Danielle was annoyed with how simple Philly's reply was. 'That's all she has to say?' she thought while typing out "no parties? you sure you don't have an appointment to get wasted" Danielle was confused herself on why she would want to drag out the conversation longer than it needed to be. It was only minutes before the reply but it felt like hours for the brunette.

"Now that you mention it, yes I do. How about you come along and take a few pictures of that? I'm sure I can work together a private escort for you, princess"

Danielle rolled her eyes while typing out "I'll be there."

Danielle tried not to think about it but the interaction was the only thing on her subconscious mind. She found herself smiling to herself while doing homework and thinking about Philly modeling for her. Every time she caught herself though, she would throw her hands over her eyes and whisper, "Shut up. Shut up. She isn't anything to me. Not again." The only time Danielle finally let her guard down was while laying in bed. As a sickly sweet innocent smile appeared on her face, she hid away from the world by pulling the covers over her face. No one was aloud to see her in such a state.

The rest of the week Danielle tried to think up ideas on how she would portray Philly. In the end Danielle decided she would show Philly while partying and another while she is studying. Both very simple characteristics that she was sure half the class would go for. Normally she would put more thought and originality into it but she didn't want to give Philly the satisfaction of knowing Danielle was thinking about her so much.

'Two quick shots that show her terrible personality. She will do both of these this weekend and that's all I need,' she thought while standing outside the school building. The week was finally over and the two agreed to meet by the front of the school. From there they would go back to Philly's house then to the party later.

Danielle was huffing and groaning with announce as people who weren't Philly walked past. She hates when people make her wait and the fact she was for the annoyance that is Philly Lester just made it even worse. When she finally saw the other strolling up she made the fact she was peeved known.

"Took you long enough."

"Aw, did I make the princess wait?"

"Yeah actually."

Philly just rolled her eyes while walking away. Danielle tightened the grip around the camera bag she was holding, trying to push back her anger. Before the brunette could start following, Philly called back, "Can you walk or are you just going to wait for me to carry you?" That was it, Danielle raced up to the other and forced her around to look at her.

"Do you care about anyone besides yourself?"

Philly looked at the other, first with shock and confusion. Which made the brunette feel as though she had won for the first time in a long time. This changed quickly when a smirk appeared on the other's face. "Yes," she fell to one knee and took Danielle's hand, "You. I care about you more than anything and if anything were to happen to my princess...I would never be able to forgive myself." A light blush started to creep onto her face and it turned dark when Philly kissed her hand lightly.

She pulled away and started to quickly walk the direction they were headed a few seconds ago. Danielle could hear Philly let out a soft mocking laugh while standing back up. "Too far sweet heart," she called out. Danielle turned around to see the other standing by a motorcycle and holding out a helmet.

"You're joking," she huffed out while walking over and staring down at the helmet. Philly shook it as if saying 'Are you going to take it?' Danielle snatched it from Philly and put it on her head with hesitation. After it was on Danielle looked at Philly who was smiling unexpectedly. "What?" the brunette muttered while folding her arms. The slightly giddy girl shrugged and hopped onto the motorcycle.

She patted the back of the seat and Danielle got on with the same amount of hesitation from before. Philly started it up without warning which made the other gasp. The raven haired girl let out another soft laugh, reached around to take Danielle's arms and wrap them around her waist.

"Hold on, princess."
