Nothing changes

December

Everything was cold when you woke up. Your sheets and blankets were spread across the floor in front of your bed. You're not entirely sure why your lifeless sleeping body would do such a thing, especially since its 32° Fahrenheit outside. You swear, no matter how high you turn your heater it'll never be able to keep up with this god awful weather. 

Its already 6:39 though and you have no time to complain about this, its time for you to get ready for your day.

While your throwing on your clothes and brushing out the rats nest that you call hair, the sun had already started showing itself. Sunrises were always your favorite growing up. Orange and pink streaks of light would dance through the blinds and across your room. It was always a great thing to wake up too, especially when camping during the summer.
The trees always captured the light just right. The dew drops acted as tiny mirrors on the leaves and everything would glow.
Those were the best times of your life.

Its time to leave. First: the library. You go there almost every week to find a new book to read. Almost two levels of novels and history, you were excited as hell to find something else to occupy your time. Plus, your friends were usually there. Maybe they could find some time to talk between their studying.

The city traffic was awful but you manage to make it there by 8:30. It was freezing outside so you run into the building from the parking lot. As soon as you walked in you could already see feferi, sollux and karkat sitting at a table reading their books before they have to go to class at 10. You rush over to them and grab a seat.

"Hey guys! Whats goin on?" You say with a smile.

"Chem" feferi answers "I dont get balancing and sollux wont show me the answers to the homework"

Sollux sighs but doesn't look up from the computer in his lap.

"He's in a shit mood this morning" fef says turning towards him and waiting for a response.

All he does is look at her, then goes back down to typing away on his laptop.

You start to giggle a little. "Wow" you say looking at fef.

    "I know" she sighs "karkats just as busy"

"Can you please keep me out of this and shut up maybe. I have a test I'm studying for. If you two wanna talk so fucking bad go somewhere else"

You and feferi both sit there awkwardly in silence, she clicks her nails on the table and you sorta realize its time for you to leave. Maybe you could meet up with them later.

    "Bye fef" you whisper leaning down to give her a hug. You go around the table to sollux and hug him from behind, giving him a small kiss on the cheek.

"Bye ara" he looked at you "maybe later today we can get lunch together" he reached out and tugged at the bottom of your coat.

"Yes, id really like that" you say smiling back.

"Ill text you. Okay?" He smiled again.

You and him weren't dating but you wanted too. He had told you he liked you and found you extremely attractive about a month ago. Between then you and him have been flirting. One night when he drove you home from a party you and him made-out in his car. You stopped it from going too far, you didn't wanna do anything serious yet and he was fine with it. Ever since then you and him have talked a little but he's been so busy with school you've been scared to bother him.

You head up to the second level of the library, there are so many books here. You couldn't imagine having to organize all of these. Today you were looking for a book about European history, theres a class during the summer that you'll be taking on it. Studying up a few months before hand couldn't be that bad, history was always something you found to be interesting.
