Alex's POV
Monday came and we had to go to school. Back home school was over, but here we had two more weeks. That just adds to the suckiness of moving here.
I walked downstairs just as my mom was going to yell, only she didn't see me. "Alex! Austin! Come on!" She yelled right in my ear.
"Mom, right here. No need to yell," I said rubbing my ears.
"Sorry, sweetheart. You guys have a good first day."
"Yeah, yeah. If you were back home we'd already be done," I mumbled under my breath.
"Alex, you get to see Olivia. Quit complaining," Austin said smirking.
"Yeah? Do you really want to go there? Caroline!" I said hopping in my truck. I could see today was going to be agonizing already.
Olivia's POV
Caroline and I always got to school early enough that we could hang around with our group and talk. That's what we were doing now.
"So, how was the country boy?" Matt asked me.
"What does that mean?" I asked putting my hand on my hip.
"Wilson, don't play dumb. We all saw you leave with him," Drake said smirking.
"Nothing happened. He lives next door to me," I said just as a red Chevy Silverado pulled into our school's parking lot.
"There's the country boy now," Matt said laughing.
"Austin!" Caroline yelled running over to the truck and hugging him. She looked so happy.
"Hey, beautiful," Alex said hugging my waist.
"Rilee," I whispered and walked away. "Come on. I'll show you around," I said walking into the school.
Alex's POV
I followed Liv into the school as everyone placed bets on how long it would be before we dated. "Olivia, can we stop by the office?" I asked stopping in the middle of the hallway.
"Sure. Come on," she said grabbing my hand. " You look very handsome today. That shirt really brings out your eyes. Rilee would be jealous."
"I think someone else is jealous," I said pulling her to me.
"I'm not jealous," she breathed out.
"So you won't mind meeting her when she comes?" I asked staring into her eyes.
Hurt flashed in them, but she covered it up. "W-when will she be here?" She asked looking away.
"Once summer vacation starts here," I said. I grabbed her face and made her look at me. "Tell me you don't want me."
"No," she whispered out.
"Because you do? Because some part of you wants me to kiss you right now?" I asked moving in closer.
"Yes, but we can't," she said pulling away. "It's wrong. Let's go get your schedule."
"Okay."
What was I thinking? That could have turned out so bad. I really need to keep my distance from her. Even if it does kill me. It's safer that way.
We grabbed my schedule and she looked at it first. "We have almost all the same classes together," she said handing me the paper.
"Really?" I asked. I was happy and depressed at the same time. How could I keep my distance when we had every class together and we lived next door to each other.
"Yes. We do. Let's go. The first period is Pre-Calculus," she said intertwining our fingers. And so it begins.
Olivia's POV
I couldn't believe he would get that close to me. "Alex," I said before class started.
"What?" He snipped. It made me jump.
"You don't have to be so rude."
"I don't have to be rude but you also say that I'm not allowed to get close to you while you're holding my hand. It doesn't make any sense Olivia either you want me or you don't. I have a girlfriend, yes, but if you want me you need to tell me," he said.
In all honesty, he made perfectly good sense. I wanted him so much but the fact that he had a girlfriend scared me. "Maybe we should talk about this at a different time. I mean it's a lot to think about."
"Fine by me. Just keep your hands to yourself until you do figure it out."
Alex's POV
I felt like I was too rude to Olivia in pre-calculus but I had no choice. She needed to make up her mind. Dragging me into a whirlwind of emotions for no reason didn't make sense to me. She was beautiful and amazing, but that wasn't enough to make me leave my girlfriend.
"Dude, what did you do to Liv?" Jonathon walked up and asked me.
"I laid out the truth to her. Why what did she say?"
"She missed you."
"We have almost every single class together. We see each other all day."
"But are you talking to her?"
"Not until she makes up her mind about us. I want your sister, and it's obvious she wants me. She just needs to admit it."
I hadn't noticed Olivia come up behind me with a girl next to her. That girl being my girlfriend.
"You want who?" Rilee all but screeched.
"What are you doing here so soon?" I asked shocked and starring at Olivia's crystal blue eyes.
"Does that matter? It shouldn't matter if I am here or not!" Rilee yelled backing away. "I will just talk to you when you get home!" With that she was gone and I was dumbfounded and standing between Olivia and her brother.
"You want me?" Olivia asked slowly.
Great! One more problem I have to attend to soon.
