just so mom would let me stay home from school today
i didn't feel like doing anything
i didn't think i could anyway
even though i was pretending
i felt sick in a different way
i couldn't describe it
i stayed in bed
while my sister went off to school
and my mom headed out for another job hunt
i confined myself to bed
and silently cried.
