Prologue

Kyreece put his arm around Neveah's neck and softly kissed her cheek, "You're mine, babygirl. I got you, you know that right?"

Nevaeh felt heat rise to her cheeks as he said this. Her body instantly responded to his, as if the adrenaline in her body was somehow connected with his body. She felt like this had to mean that he was the one.

That was it for her, she didn't need anyone else.

She turned around and kissed his plump, juicy lips, "I know that. You ain't gotta say anything, baby."

He wrapped his muscular arms around her fragile frame and cautiously leant down to place his forehead along hers, careful not to hurt her. The girls in which he had previously been involved with were all runners, they were nothing permanent. He knew that what he felt for Nevaeh was something real and that this girl standing right in front of him was his rider.

She knew everything that had happened in his life, from his highest points and happiest days, right down to his flaws and insecurities. Kyreece felt like he didn't need anyone else to make him happy, as did Nevaeh.

They were good.

He bit his bottom lip as nerves began to unfold all around his body, "Nevaeh," He placed his big, warm hands on her chin and brought her head up to stare at his hazel brown eyes, "I love you."

Nevaeh felt her breath catch in her throat as nobody had ever ushered those words to her before.

She felt special; like she was in a fairytale story and that nothing could possibly ruin what the two of them shared together.

Her heart threatened to break her ribcage as it bashed against her chest, and tears started to cascaded down her brown skin, "Kyreece," She softly wiped a tear from her eye and hung her head low again to stop herself from looking at his beautiful features that were perfectly sculpted.

He engulfed her into a long, comforting hug and kissed her coconut scented hair, "It's okay, baby. You don't have to say anything that you don't want to," He stroked her hair softly, "I'm just telling you how I feel about you now, and will do forever."

A sob escaped her lips, "Kyreece," She gently pushed him away and looked at him, tears filling her eyes, "I know, but when you stop loving me, what's gonna happen then? Because I know that I am so in love with you and I don't want to be hurt," She closed her eyes and let the last tears leave, "Again."

He held her hands, "Baby, look at me." He pulled her towards him, so her gaze set on his face again, "I ain't ever leaving you. I've been here for two years and I ain't ever letting you slip through my fingers, you hear me?"

She bit her soft lips, "Okay."

He shook his head, "Trust me when I tell you that I'm here to stay."

Her voice was croaky as she spoke, "Don't make a promise that you can't keep."

He had had enough. She wouldn't listen and it was beginning to frustrate him.

The only way he could prove it to her was by making love to her, but even still, she wouldn't ever let him do that.

He let go of her, instantly feeling his body turn cold. "Alright then, have it your way."
