Welcome back! I hope you're enjoying the story so far! Most of the chapters from here on out are going to shift between Hermione and Draco's point of view. I hope you don't mind that.

Draco

Draco didn't get much sleep that night. Granger had ruined his day and now she was ruining his night. How dare she sneak up on him! The filthy little mudblood... though she wasn't little anymore.

Draco knew Hermione was very pretty, though he'd never admit that. But, it still didn't change how he felt about her. He hated her, even more than Weasel-bee and Potter. He hated Weasel-bee because his father did, Potter because he acted like he was better than everyone else, humiliated him on his first day, and he was just... Potter, but Granger...

Granger was completely different. She was a stuck up know-it-all, cocky, a mudblood, and Draco was quite sure she had a crush on the Weaslette. And since Weaslette was a Weasley, that just added on to his hate towards Granger. What was her name? Linny or something. It didn't matter. At least, that's what Pansy told him. Pansy was a major gossip. Pansy. Just the sound of her name made him upset.

Draco and Pansy had been dating since the end of 5th year. It may sound silly, but he thought that would be that woman he would marry. But obviously she thought differently. He had caught her snogging some Ravenclaw (that looked strangely like a girl) that Draco didn't like in the Slytherin common room. He didn't really like anyone out of his house. He didn't even know Pansy talked to any Ravenclaws.

Draco turned onto his stomach and yelled into his pillow. His anger didn't subside in the slightest. He shot up, running his fingers through his platinum blonde hair. He cupped his head in his hands and groaned deeply. He was never going to be able to get any sleep. He may as well go down to the common room.

He slid out from his bed and looked around the room to make sure nobody was awake. The only thing he could hear was the faint sound of one of his bunk mates snoring. He yawned, stretching his arms over his head, and sauntered down the steps to the common room.

   Hermione

Hermione had been having a good dream. She couldn't remember it, of course. The good dreams never stick with you. She rolled on her side and pulled her wand towards her. She put it on her lap before dragging a large book towards her.

She smiled wearily at the cover. "Hogwarts, a History". It was the first wizarding book she had ever read. That's how she knew about the enchantment in the ceiling in the Great Hall and such. "Lumos," she muttered, swishing and flicking her wand like she learned in 1st year. A small light protruded from her wand.

She opened the cover and inhaled deeply. She loved the smell of old books. It was a way for her to just forget about whatever may be happening outside of her little bubble. Her fingers grazed the yellowed pages of the large book. She flipped to the first page and started to reread.
