"Wait no don't leave, stop!" I yell towards the bus as it rolls away my hand reaching out towards it.

As I run my breath shortens and it seems I'll never catch up. My heart sinks, what will my mum say about missing the bus, not even making it to the first day of school? My eyes well up and I bite my lower lip to choke back the tears but they still fall out, like a waterfall. Just then a pair of crimson eyes look towards me, they are round, innocent, and kind. A boy who looked to be about my age, maybe a bit older, but his eyes captivated me like nothing else ever had or ever will. Regathering myself I race for the bus again, there's only a couple more blocks until it teleports to the next stop, then I'll never be able to find it till next year. If only my stupid parents taut me how to ride a broom I could catch up, or even fly there myself. They wouldn't teach me cause it was against the rules to use magic in front of non magic people because of past events. At least that's what they say, they probably didn't teach me cause my stupid brother fell and they don't think I can. Lost in thought I trip on a bump on the sidewalk, faceplanting into the pavment.

Ouchie, what idiot put that there, "Hey are you coming or not?" I grimace looking up at the same crimson eyes, "I got the bus to stop for you, but it won't wait forever. If you take to long we'll both be left behind." what did he make the bus stop for me? "Do you need help with everything? Come on!" He extends his hand as I timidly take hold of it he grabs mine tightly and pulls me to the bus.

Sitting on the seat across from the boy I look down breathing heavily, then looking up, I see him smiling. My heart skipped a beat as he started laughing looking with those crimson eyes. I tilt my head not sure what he could be laughing at but it seems to make him laugh more.

"W-what is it?" I tilt my head still extremely confused.

His hand is on his belly as he exhales deeply subsiding his laughter, "It's not really anything just that was the most fun I've ever had," his answer just confused me more, "besides I didn't even know we had more wizards here than just my family," that's true, I thought we were the only family as well. Just as I'm about to ask for his family name a small whimper come from my bag, "Whoah whats that?" the boy points at my bag excitedly.

"Hmm? Oh this," opening the small latch on my bag two small green eyes peer out, "this is Egie, he's and egeal fox kit," saying this I snap and pat my lap, Egie immediately comes out of the bag shaking his small little wings with a yawn before proceeding to sit on my lap.

"YOU HAVE A FAMILIAR ALREADY!" His loud voice spooks Egie causing him to curl up inside my jacket, "you must be really powerful to summon one at our age not to mention such a cool one!" I tilt my head again in confision.

"Fam...ilier...Sum...in?" I pet Egie's soft little ears and feel the small vibrations of his purr.

"You know, like a magical pet wizards summon and create a bond with to enhance their magical power," again I'm so confused, "how could you not know this when you're the one who summoned him?"

"But I didn't summon him."

"What!? Then how do you have a familier?."

Looking down lovingly I pull Egie up and cradle him in my arms," Well I hatched him, duh, isn't that obvious."

Now he just looked dumbstruck," You're telling me you didn't summon him, you hatched him from an egg and tamed him."

I nod giggling as Egie licks my nose and wags his tail.

"But mom told me beast tamers pretty much died out," I look over hearing him mumbling stuff about beasts and mums and just shrug.

I poke Egie's tummy, he hates it when I do that so he swipes at me, with his very sharp talons. "Ouch, bad Egie!" I stick my bleeding finger in my mouth and place Egie back in my bag were he falls asleep.

"Are you okay, that looks like it really hurts," those crimson eyes of his looked at me with so much concern it made me blush, "here, I don't know how to cast any spells but I have something that can help, give me your hand."

I look at him for a moment before placing my bleeding hand before him, a single drop of blood falls to the ground. It was the same crimson color as his eyes. I soon felt a tight squeeze as he wrapped my cut with some sort of cloth. He looked so intense and concentrated I couldn't pull my gaze away from him.

"There we go, all better." He looks down at his work proud before looking up and locking eyes, I can feel my cheeks heat up and turn my face down,"are you okay?" I only nod in repley, "oh by the way, what's your na-" just as we are talking the bus come to a screeching hault.

"We're here, get out," the bus drivers gruff voice belted out and I instinctively grabbed my suit case and closed up Egie so he wouldn't fall out.

After that me and that boy went our separate ways, me with the other girls to the witches dorms. He with the boys to the worlock dorms. I was only 6 at the time, but I remember those crimson red eyes and soft grey hair. I have never seen him sense that day but I know I'll find him again one day.

Heyo my loverly readers, I'M BACK.
I've been having a lot of writers block with my other stories so that's why they are on hold.
So as you can tell this is a witchcraft sort of book and I hope you like it.
Don't worry though, there is going to be romance moments but this isn't really ment to be a romance novel.
Each chapter I'm going to tell you about one of the characters and as this is the first chapter I'll tell you about our main heroine. Oh and her ever so needed sidekick fox.

Avanna Lindell (Ava)- Ava is a fun kind and accepting girl with two big goals in mind. One, be the best witch in the world, and two, find the crimson eyed boy again. She's extremely clumsy and can't do any spells or potions, so basically a failure as a witch. She can sometimes be brash saying what she wants without thinking about it, although most of the time she doesn't mean to be rude. Her eyes are a dark blue and her hair is pale pink. The only magical thing she's good at is communicating and taming wild creatures, but they don't even study that in school. Her physical ablution are no better than her magical ones either. She tends to be care free and not worry a lot about things.
Eugene Fronzell (Egie)- He resembles that of a fox with red eagle like wings. His claws are actually talons and are retractible like a cats. He ages the same as a human would and is a year older than Ava and watches over her loyaly. He speaks in the same tongue as humans but can still understand most basic mythological creatures. Him and Ava are so closely bonded that they can communicate telepathically but only if both ends will it. For the most part he is extremely loyal and protective over Ava but there is something to him that doesn't meet the eye.
