Chapter Zero

"We live? Alright we're live. In New York at 2 pm this afternoon, a bio-terrorist attack was triggered, sources say that half of the city is in ruin and that those North Grand Central Park are dead. The infection has spread so fast that forces of Phoenix are unable to contain it at this time, saying that all residents-"The report begins coughing before wiping his mouth. "Sorry, saying that all residents are to evacuate New York as soon as-" The reports jerks forward, blood spraying from his mouth and out onto the table, the camera man along with everyone else in the room starts screaming. The reporter looks up at the camera, blood spewing down his chin from his mouth, covering the entire desk and his shirt, his eyes filled with blood he started screaming, rolling onto the floor, he began spewing up even more blood, more noise from around the studio could be heard. Someone walks in front of the camera, giant holes in his skin opening, blood dripping down onto the floor, looking at the camera his expression was nothing short of terrifying, dropping to his knees, he screamed, "HELP US!!" before stopping and dropping to the floor, blood emitting from his body.

Chapter One

"Delta in position."

"Bravo in position."

"Uniform in position."

"Knight in position."

"X-ray in position."

"All teams in position. Initiate Operation Arbiter."

Jumping out from behind the ambulance van, Knight made their move towards Times Square, picking up the large canister, Ishmael swung it around and clipped it onto his back. Running up behind his squad mates. "We get to Times Square, release the Chem and leave, understood? From the ashes we will be reborn." Looking forward the squad leader raised his rifle and turned the corner, the rest of the squad following.

The heavy breathing almost masked the noise of the busy streets, bystanders stopped and stared at the squad as the moved towards the heavily populated area. "Move please! Out of the way! PHCC coming through!" Uluv ordered, people stepping aside as he did. The people of New York had great respect for these men, not only do they give their lives every day, they work hard to keep the city safe. Looking around Ishmael looked at the massive holo-signs, ads for Coke and movies flashed. Looking back down at his rifle, he saw the hand gesture of Uluv, doing the same the squad spread out before making their way in the center of the Times Square. Kneeling down he carefully lifted the canister off his back and sat it down on the ground. Pressing the red button on top of the canister a glass screen flipped up, a menu appearing on it. The canister deployed the clamps, pinning it to the ground. Pressing another button, the cylinder began to rise until a loud clank sounded out, the emitter exposed. Standing up Ishmael unslung his weapon and joined the rest of the group, pulling out the switch he pressed the button before chucking it down onto the ground.

Chapter Two

"Jesus Christ look at this..." The flashlight hovers over a line of corpses, some in body bags others just lying there, stepping forward Miller knelt down and grabbed the hand of a corpse, looking at the massive open pores on its. Before being able to react one of them spat out a white liquid, spraying all over the hardened glass visor. "Augh! Fuck!" He exclaimed, rolling onto his back. Whipping the white goo from his visor, he stood up and looked down at the body, his eyes wandering up, he met eyes with the body, they blinked, stepping forward he pointed the barrel of his rifle down at its forehead, looking dead into the eyes of the person he couldn't even describe as a human being, he took a break before pulling the trigger.

Straightening himself back up, the squad all walked up to a corpse and began shooting them, to confirm they were dead. The gunshots echoed and rippled through the underground, the bright blue and purple lights from the HK684EW's lighting up the platform with every shot that was taken.

"Cease fire! Cease fire!" The squad leader, Jules waved his hand up and down, everyone stopping. "Miller... Call it in. All infected individuals are to be double tapped to confirm they are dead." Nodding his head, Miller pulled up his arm and began transmitting. "All units, all units, this is 2nd Lieutenant Miller transmitting an important message. All infected are to be double tapped to confirm they are dead, I say again, all infected individuals are to be shot twice to confirm they are dead. Over."

Chapter Three

"Sir." The officer announced. Turning around the man was concealed in shadows, his red eyes glowed in the dark. "Yes Major Ragan." His ruff voice echoing in the huge room. On closer inspection, beneath the man, emitted by the orange sunset, red splatters cover the floor.

"Operation Arbiter was a success... But it wasn't what we anticipated. The results, were horrendous. Only a quarter of the population of New York made it out sir! You killed those people-"

"I killed those people?" His head turned towards the Major, only one-half of his face visible. Turning around he walked towards his desk, his heavy boots echoing as he walked towards his desk. "I didn't kill those people." He emphasized the last two words before stopping at his desk, he opened the drawer nearest to his knee and pulled out something that shined in the light before raising it. "You killed the citizens of New York." Pulling back the hammer, a loud click sounded out, the Major stepping back. "And I..." Straightening his arm up and pointing the massive revolver at the Major. "Killed you." The revolver recoiling back, the Major stopped still, only being jerked back slightly, dropping to his knees and then finally onto his face.

Lowering his arm, the man continued to stare at the body before putting the massive revolver back into the drawer and sitting down and turning to his desk. Looking to his left he stared at the picture of a women with red hair and yellow eyes and a girl with one red eye, one yellow eye and black hair. Picking up the picture he was seemingly zoned out of everything, gritting his teeth he reached over to his knife and continued what he was doing before the Major interrupted him.

Chapter Four

"This is RBS-675 reporting from Madison Square Garden." The robotic soldier transmitted through it's built in radio. "Understood RBS-675, is there any survivors." Looking over it's shoulder, RBS-675 could see a civilian emerging from behind a tree, attempting to make a break for it, the two other robotic soldiers that were there raised their weapons and fired on the civilian, his body falling limp and falling face first into the grass. "Negative, no survivors."

Chapter Five

"This is X-Ray, we are inserting into the city, US military have been alerted, what are our orders sir?" Looking at the sun, blood dripping down his arm and onto the floor. "Join up with Coast Guard, the Marines, whoever, and evacuate the city. And also Sargent..." The man turned to face the holo-screen. "Kill anyone who is infected or a witness to what has happened." Swiping down on the holo-screen the man turned around and noticed a bright light emitting from his arm, looking down, the scars had disappeared. Breathing heavily, he reached over and grabbed the knife on his desk and clicked the play button on his phone, which began to play heavy metal music as he continued to cut into his skin.

"Sir... Sir... SIR!" The voice finally reaching his ears, he reached over and paused the song. "Yes, Major."
