I reached for the door and swung it open. I walked into Mr. Dannie’s room. “Mrs. Tyler, Your late..” Well No im early. “Yes sir, I know” “One more from any other teacher and you have detention.” “I know, I know” He signed. " Take a seat so we can start" He pointed to my seat. I walked over and took my seat next to Maya Miller. Shes quiet, We’ve talked once or twice but only something like “Can you hand me my pencil?” If she’d talk more I think we could be friends. “Okay class Mrs. Ann and I have decided to bring our first period classes together and do a project” He had a big smile on his face, I think he was hoping for everyone to cheer and clap but we were silent. His smile faded. “Well clears his throat We have partners assigned already, yall will be mixed in with her class Morly than in our class. They should be in here in a couple minutes and then I will tell you who you are with until than talk quietly.” He smiled then sat at his desk. Ugh I HATE projects that involve partners! I remember once I was partnered with Lura, I did EVERYTHING! All see did was write her name on the paper and of course she got most of the credit. The teacher told “great work, nice design, Beautiful handwriting!” When all along it was me. We- The door burst opened stopping my trail of thoughts, It was Mrs. Ann’s class. I watched everyone walk in and at the end of the line ….. Roc walked in. He saw me then smiled and waved, I kinda smiled back. “Okay, Partners for this project! Even and Maya, James and Sarah, Tommy and Vennesa, Kimmy and Hayley, Kayla and Roc.” My mouth dropped. I looked over at Roc he smiled, I fake smiled back. Lura is gonna freaking kill me! She’s gonna make my life miserable until I graduate! “Okay, I passed out paper to my class about what the project is about and they are going to explain to you what its about, if you still have questions come see me” Mrs. Ann said nicely. Roc walked over to me and sat in Maya’s seat, I turned to him. “Kayla, from the hallway this morning?” He smiled “Yep that me” “Well i never got a chance to introduce myself s-” “I know who you are, Your Roc Lura’s Boyfriend…..” I looked down. “Yeahhh that me..” “Okay so the project, Explain to me” I said. “Oh yeah um we have to do a report about human stuff, Like the body, Nature, How we act about different things..” “Okay I get it, When is it do?” “Oh um 4 weeks” “More than enough time, You wanna do it on how we act about different things?” “Sure, Bu-” DING DING DING The bell for 2 period rung. He smiled. “Listen, Heres my number just call me later and we can talk more about it” He handed me a slip of paper. “Okay” He picked up his stuff and walked out I did the same, cant be late again. 2 period would have to be the worst. Lura’s in there and she makes it so I wish I would have never taking this class, But I have to suck it up. I walked in to class and waited for the bell. Right before it rung Lura walked in with her “Bestie” Jane Bell. I sit right in front of them so they have perfect chances to just throw stuff at me and talk about me so its loud enough for me to hear it. “Ew, Who left the trash sittin’ here?” She burst into laughter. My eyes became watery, I quickly wiped them Lura couldnt see me crying it would make her talk about me more. “Aw is someone crying?” Jane made a baby face. “No, But I think someones wearing ocean perfume. Oh wait no its you.” Everyone heard me and Ohh’d. “Wait it Tyler..” She glared at me.
Lunch time “Can I please just pay you tomorrow, I am really hungry” I whispered. “Mrs. Tyler, Im sorry I did that yesterday and U still didnt pay me.” “Okay..” I sat my lunch down by her register and walked out of the line. My stomach growled and I held it. I headed for the doors of the Cafeteria. What the point of sitting and waiting everyone else eat there meal. As I walked in Lura and Roc came in together. He smiled and waved, I waved back but Lura saw she looked at Roc then roughly Kissed him. He pulled away and said something to her but I didnt really hear. I continued to walk out, Where to go im sure all the teachers are eating too. My stomach growled again. I decided to just chill by my locker and read the new “Diary of A Wimpy Kid” As I read I heard some noises come from around the corner so I got up and walked out as I turned the corner I bumped into Roc. “OMG, Oh you scared me!” He chuckled. "Sorry I uh- He was interrupted by the sound of my stomach growling. “You should hungry, Didnt eat?” He questioned me. “No…” “Why not?” “No money to pay with” I looked down so he wouldnt see my eyes getting watery. I felt his soft hand touch my chin and he lifted my head up gently. As he did so A tear fell from my eyes, He wiped it. “I can give you money to pay with..” “No you dont have to do that, Really.” My stomach growled again. “No, Its not your hungry and your eating okay. It wouldnt be right if I didnt buy lunch.” “O-Okay” Roc and I walked to the lunch room talking and laughing. Roc bought me lunch and I gabbled it up like a freaking pig! As I walked to put my tray up with Roc, Lura stuck her foot out and tripped me! My milk flew up and landed up side down directly on my head. “The **** is your problem Lura?!?” Roc screamed. “Nothing! My foot slipped!” She lied. I shock my head and ran out of the school and across the street to my secret hide out…. – So this part like sucked but It shall get better!
