His gaze was deep, deeper than the purest oceans, fixated on my every move, making me squirm under the heat. If it were not for my helplessness, I would have never even been here in the first place. But yes, I needed his help before it was...
The bell rang and I hurried downstairs running from my confusing, yet entrancing thoughts.
Mark, dressed in a white shirt and black jeans, opened the door.
Everyone was here, the girls, the guys and Nolan. It was funny how I separated him from other guys. My eyes scanned over everyone's figures before stopping to the person whose thoughts had been haunting me today. Nolan. Dressed in a simple black button down shirt and dark blue Levis, he looked simply edible. My eyes caught his and held them. They were intense and it seemed to me like he was trying to convey something to me with those deep eyes of his, something he couldn't convey with his mouth.
I quickly averted my eyes and then they landed on one person who was unexpected guest here. Nick.
My questioning gaze met Hailey's and she mouthed 'Will explain later.' I nodded and welcomed everyone.
The girls were wearing dresses. Taylor was dressed in a light pink dress with cute embellishments on the collar area. Hailey had donned a light blue coloured dress that seemed to accentuate her curves and seemed like a similar colour to what Breckin wore. Harriet was wearing a white coloured dress with black belt that showed off her slender waist.
The guys were all wearing some shirts. Asher was wearing a flannel, Breckin a light blue coloured and Nick a black coloured, too, along with Nolan.
After greeting and being enveloped in hugs by almost everyone my eyes met Nolan's. He was next for greeting. I just smiled a large fake smile and said, "Welcome home."
He was stunned to say the least. I didn't wait to hear his response as I moved onto the next person. Nick.
Unlike uncountable times in past, he was smiling this time and not scowling. A genuine smile that made him look utterly handsome. Though not as good as Nolan, a sick part of my brain reminded.
"Welcome home," I said, smiling my typical fake smile.
He nodded and grinned at me, eyes scanning me like a piece of meat, "Thank you. And my my Cadence! Don't you clean up well?"
I flushed under his piercing blue eyes and mumbled a small thank you. "You aren't all that bad."
"Well, there's a reason I have so many fangirls," He replied, smiling cheekily.
I chuckled lightly and said, "Really?"
"Yes, really," He said, his expression yet amused, his blue eyes piercing through mine. I smiled at him, a genuine one this time.
This Nick was definitely different than the one I had encountered in the past. This one didn't seem like the bully, but rather this one seemed like I had known back in pre-elementary, when we were all just three-four. Oh yes there was a time when we both weren't hostile towards each other. We were friends actually. But then during elementary school, I lost one of my closest friends and gained myself a bully. I didn't know what happened to him to make him hate me so much. Eventually I forgot about my friendship with him and rather focused on the bully he had become.
And he hadn't been good to me ever since then. Until now, until today when Nolan had started acting like a complete asshole to me. Honestly a part of me was waiting for something to happen, something big. Because every good time has to end someday doesn't it? And I was cynical. I was literally waiting for another shoe to fall, to show me the reality of the situation.
But sometimes in life you do need the other shoe to fall. To make you realize that everything doesn't always go your own way. Sometimes the best of moments have to be broken to create something even greater. In this case, I think it was Nick's friendship that seemed to be blossoming. I closed my eyes for a moment, hoping to not break this new blossoming friendship wouldn't break like a fragile glass.

So yeah, that was it. Nolan's being a dick now. Not expected right? And Nick is being a great person now, cracking jokes and all. Where one friendship is ruining, another is blossoming.Oh and the picture above is a Goofy Asher played by Francisco Lachowski. Can't deny he's hot now, can we? ;)
Happy reading everyone and have a great week ahead! :)
