Calum slipped an over sized sweater over his head and ruffled his hair before exiting his room.
Ashton was busy on the phone talking to his mom. Whining about how he missed being back in Australia. As well as Calums.
Calum rolled his eyes and grabbed his keys waving to Ashton before slipping out of the apartment. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through tumblr as he was riding the elevator down to the lobby.
Something told him he should've been aware of his surroundings today, but he paid no mind to it. He locked his phone and stepped out of the elevator with a satisfied smile. He hated being in those things, always having a fear they'd break and he'd be stuck in an elevator alone.
"Morning Calum," Andrew -a fellow neighbor in the building- waved as he saw the boy walked past.
"Hey Andy," Calum gave a nod and exited the building.
He could already hear the busy city erupt in noise. Drilling concrete, honking, cars passing by, chatter of people, sellers, and the patter of everyone's shoes on the wet pavement.
Calum walked past a rusty black truck with a puzzled expression. Obviously somebody was moving into the building, but he wonders how they've come from. Like who just drives a rusty old vehicle through the heart of New York City.
Well, there were some weirdos here. That's for sure. So Calum just shrugged it off and continued his walk to work. He got a glance at the boy who was moving in and saw he had a bright head of red hair. Obviously dyed that way.
Though Calum hadn't stayed long enough to see the boys face. Only the hack of his head. And like that, the two boys -strangers for now continued with their day. Without knowing how after today, their lives will get a little more exciting.
