chapter 1 - to love and forget

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness

Like resignation to the end, always the end

So when we found that we could not make sense

Well you said that we would still be friends

But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over

We were the definition of true love. Mason and Victoria. The couple that would last forever. Except we didn't. And I wouldn't ever have thought it would be like this. Painful and only painful.

It was the third day of September. The day we first met. Being the first day of school, the hallways were really crowded with students all desperately trying to reach their lockers. I rushed through the crowd with Jennifer by my side. It was a really tiring day and I just wanted to reach my locker and go home with Jenny.

Jenny was my best friend and we had been really close for around seven years now.  We had calculus first lesson and that was not a good start to an already exhausting day. I was in a hurry to reach school early so I dropped my bowl of cereal on my new clothes. I ended up being fifteen minutes late to school.

As I made my way along the hallway, I bumped into a tall six feet figure. He held my shoulders steering me the other way and I looked up into his blue eyes. My heart fastened it's pace as I held my breath. It felt like a really cliche moment and I quickly looked back down weaving my way to my locker Jenny trailing behind me. But I still couldn't forget his face.

He had cute boyish features and looked about sixteen, his dark brown hair messily arranged on his head. He was everything I dreamed for in perfection. And I knew this day won't be so stressful anymore. He was... so cute. (anyone get that reference?)

''Ooh lala" Jenny said as we finally reached our locker. "What?'' I questioned. This was no time for love BS. I was really tired.

"He was totally into you", Jenny said giving me a wink.

What?! Sometimes that girl goes a little cray-cray.

"Come on Vicky! As if you would like to deny that'' Jenny said rolling her eyes. She was right though. Even if he wasn't into me I'd like to imagine it. We dumped our books in our locker and headed to the cafeteria. I froze in my place as we entered the canteen.

That feet guy was sitting on our table. Chatting to our group of friends. And they were laughing which meant they were getting along. Can destiny get ANY better? Jenny squealed next to me as we headed to our table.

"Vickyyyy" everyone on our table chorused together which consisted of Abigail (one of my best friends),  Jessica (a good friend), Justin (the quietest of us all) and Daniel and Raymond which is when I noticed Jenny had gone to grab her lunch. I sat between Daniel and Raymond. Daniel then introduced me to the guy I bumped in to. "Victoria, Mason; Mason Victoria"

He looked even better right in front of me, his dimples more prominent, his eyes bluer than before, his hair gorgeously tangled and his smile...

I held my breath as he smiled at me.
