***picture of Layla's wol form (only it would be green eyes instead)***

Chapter 2:

Layla's head was pounding. She couldn't think straight. Her body felt as if it was swaying. She tenderly attempted to lift her head.

"Don't move yet. Let them think you are still asleep." The male voice she vaguely remembered whispered into my head.

Knowing that there was no actual need to whisper since nobody else would be able to hear what she was saying to him unless she wanted them to, she snapped at him, "Who are you? Where am I?! What happened? And why shouldn't I let them know I'm awake? I still want to rip that piece of-"

"Slow down. I can't answer that many questions at once. My name is Logan, and I'm trying to help you. If they know you are awake already they will just try to harm you to make sure you don't put up a fight while we are still transporting you. We are headed back to our home. I'm not sure of their motives with you yet, but either way you will be staying with our pack from now on," he cut Layla off.

"Oh hell no! I am not going to be staying with your pack! You better find a way to bring me home right this second before I go ballistic!"

"I don't have that kind of authority, I'm sorry. You don't really have a choice. Besides, you're still pretty young yet so at least you don't have to worry about becoming someone's mate right away."

"Someone's mate?! Not going to happen! Not in a million years! Why don't you guys just stick to your own pack? It's not like we can produce offspring of mixed packs. If that is your only reason for kidnapping so many of us, then you all are stupider than I thought."

Logan stayed silent for a moment. Layla couldn't see his face, but his eyes showing obvious shame. He was happy that this female laying next to him had her eyes closed. He hated how ruthless his pack was acting lately and was a little embarrassed by being a part of it. There was a bigger plan to this all, though, but he could not tell her about it. It would ruin everything.

He couldn't figure out why he felt a connection to this girl either. She was a Nuna. Plus he already had a girlfriend. Even though he knew all of these reasons why it was wrong, he still couldn't help admiring her dark coat with streaks of silver. He could remember her bright green eyes fluttering shut when he had to knock her out. Her wolf form was so magnificent, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. He only wondered what her human form looked like, if she was as breathtaking as this or if she would be plain.

Logan couldn't help but ask, "What's your name?"

"None of your business. It's not like you are even going to know me long enough for it to matter"

"You are so-" Logan got cut off when the vehicle came to an abrupt stop.

Logan shifted his body and quickly laid his hand on the Layla's back, "I can carry this one."

"Bring her to the warehouse. We will sort them out once they are unloaded," a burly man said from the front seat.

Logan nodded and open the door. He turned around and began to pull the female wolf towards him. He wrapped one of his arms underneath her body and lifted her into his arms. A chill went down his body and he was marveled at how soft her fur was and he realized that she was larger than most girls in their age group. Maybe he misjudged just how old she was.

He turned around and tried to carry Layla as gently as he could down the path to the worn down warehouse where they always brought members from different packs that they had obtained. The place looked old and abandoned. Logan knew the inside wasn't much better. He hoped that this girl wouldn't have to live here like some of the others.

Once he stepped inside the building, he waited patiently for instructions on what to do with her. There were other boys and girls that were already there watching him. The boys were dressed in raggedy slacks and a plain white t-shirt, and the girls wore simple tan dresses and dirty aprons. Their hair was messy and their skin was full of dirt. They looked hungry and tired. Logan immediately tried to ignore his emotions and to not look at them.

"Chain her up over there," the man that had been driving said as he entered the building behind Logan.

"Why?" Logan asked defensively.

"She's in wolf form. When she wakes up we do not need an unexpected attack from her. There's no knowing how any of these will respond," the man responded, as he carried a different wolf over to the area he had pointed out.

Logan noticed that the other wolf had similar markings as the one he was carrying. Maybe they were from the same blood line.

"Don't even think about chaining me up! You hear me?" Layla shouted at him through their link.

"You heard him. I have to otherwise he will realize something is up." Logan replied.

"Just set me down and I'll pretend to wake up before you have a chance to do anything."

"But what if you do decide to attack?"

"I won't, I promise. How many others of my pack do you guys have?"

"Only one other that I know of, another female."

"What does she look like?"

"She's in wolf form, also. She's larger than you with dark fur, almost pure black except for some faint white and gray streaks similar to where your silver streaks are."

Layla's heart felt like it was about to jump right out of her chest. She barely even noticed that she was holding in her breath. No. It can't be.

Logan had reached where all of the chains were. He looked over and saw the other man already almost done strapping the spiked collar and chains onto the other wolf. Logan started bending his knees and leaning down.

"This is it. If you don't want to get chained up then you need to get up once I lay you on the ground," he said to Layla as he started to place her on the cement floor.

Layla immediately opened her eyes and jumped up. She spun around defensively, taking in her surroundings. There were two men standing by the door that quickly rushed over.

"Hey, we have a live one!" one shouted.

"Get the alpha boy out of here!" the other snapped.

Layla backed up as a man that had been beside them suddenly grabbed the boy's arm that was in front of her and started pulling him towards the door. Alpha boy? She wondered.

Logan kept trying to glance back at Layla. He was worried about her. He knew he shouldn't care; she wasn't his kind, yet he still didn't want any harm to come to her. He felt like warning the men not to lay a hand on her, but he knew it would look suspicious.

Layla wished that Logan would stay. She wouldn't say that she trusted him, but she had more faith in him than these other men that she didn't know. For all she knew, one of them could be her father's murderer. Just the thought of that made her blood begin to boil.

The men were inching closer to her, unsure of how to react. Layla took that moment to glance around for the other wolf. There she is. Layla saw her and quickly ran over next to the still body. Her quick movement set the men on edge and they instantly tried to grab her, but she had her mind set. She laid down next to the other wolf and sniffed her before nuzzling her.

"Mom, wake up. Please? It's Layla." She pleaded at the wolf laying next to her, but got no response.
