Chapter 9 // Party

"Ah, Budo! Glad you could make it! And Ayano, right?"
"Yeah, nice to meet you." I smiled
"Kokona thinks very highly of you. I'm sure she'll be here any-"
"Ayano!" she shouted, hugging me, "You look sooooo pretty!"
"Thanks Kokona! So do you!" Kokona was wearing a purple dress - of course.
"Well, come inside." Riku smiled
"Kokona, you know Budo right?" I tried to act casual, even though I knew what was coming.
"Budo? You mean the martial arts master that I've been constantly shipping you with for years? The one that I kept telling you would be a perfect match for you? The one that I suspected you had a crush on but you denied all the time? The one that you're currently holding hands with? The one that's trying to catch a bit of your scent like a wolf? Yeah, I think I've seen him around."
"Well when you say it like that it sounds creepy. She just smells nice."
"You adorable little weirdo." I rolled my eyes, kissing him on the cheek
"EEEEEKKKKKKKK!" Kokona let out a girl squeal
"I came to investigate the- AYANO! AND BUDO!? HOLDING HANDS!?" Saki joined in too
"Okay we get it, Budo's my boyfriend, are you happy?"
"MORE THAN I CAN COMPREHEND INTO WORDS!"
"They've been shipping us for years?"
"Mhm."
"Well shit I mean I have to side with them on this one." Budo laughed, making the girls scream again
"Don't encourage them." I shook my head
"Sorry what was that? Encourage them?" he teased
"Budo don't you da-" I was cut off by him picking me up by the waist, spinning me the air and kissing me passionately. The girls let out a scream so high pitched I'm pretty sure a vase or two broke.
"Budo if you continue this way my house wont have any glass left." Riku laughed
"You two are so adorable!" Kokona smiled
"Yeah well.." I blushed, still not breaking eye contact with Budo
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late." a familiar face walked in, hanging up his coat next to Budo's, "Ah, Ayando has arrived I see." he smiled
"Ayando? That's what we're calling it now?" Budo laughed
"I like it, it's catchy." I smiled
"So Taro, how's my sister ya creep?"
"I hope you can't wait to be my brother in law." Taro smirked, leaning against the wall
"Oh really? Where is she, Romeo?" Budo said sarcastically
"Okay I'm here! I know that flats don't exactly match a fancy dress, but I can't walk around in those fucking heels anymore." a girl with light brown hair and grey eyes wearing a dress with the top half beige and the bottom half black rushed over. Budo's sister Sabishi, I'd assume. She looked pretty classy other than the flats she had changed into.
"It's fine Shi, come on in." Riku laughed
"And the gracious goddess herself has arrived." Budo rolled his eyes
"And the prince of helmet hair looks apon thee!" she smirked
"Oh piss off."
"I'm just playing, calm your tits. Taro, you told em yet?"
"I think I made it pretty clear." he smiled, wrapping his arm around her. Smooth moves jackass.
"Whatever, Ayando's still the power couple." Budo smiled at me
"Pfft, as if. Saro is wayyyy cuter." Shi put her hand on her hip
"Hmm, I don't know Kiku's pretty high up there." Riku took Kokona's hand
"Saki?" Taro asked
"Umm... it's like Sophie's choice.. uhh.." Saki thought, "I can't decide, you're all perfect!" she screamed frantically
"You were shipping us for years was it?" I brought up
"Well.. yeah but.."
"Saki, remember when I'd tell you every day about how well Riku treated me?"
"Y-Yeah but.."
"Saki, aren't me and Shi just perfectly matched for eachother."
"I mean yes but.."
"I love you so much Budo." I hugged him
"Oh god it's too much! Fuck this shit I'm out!" Saki walked off - I say walked, but it was more of a slow walk backwards followed by a speedy sprint away
"Anyway, me and Kokona will be in the main room, call me if you need anything." Riku waved goodbye
"Hey Shi, wanna go raid the food bar?"
"It's like you can read my fucking mind!" Sabishi grabbed his hand and ran off to the kitchen
"We're wayyyy cuter."
"Totally."

Budo's POV
"What time is it?" Ayano shouted over the music
"Like 10:30ish." I checked my watch
"What? I can't hear you."
"Give me your hand." I put out my hand, and although it looked like she didn't hear me, she knew what I wanted her to do. I took her hand and guided our way through the crowd of people, to a quiet hallway.
"It's about 10:30. What time do you want to head home? We have school tomorrow and you need to get some rest." I said
"We should probably get home then, especially since you have to drive us in the dark."
"Yeah okay. I'll stay at yours tonight." we began walking to the front door
"It's okay Budo, you can go home tonight. I'll be okay, I promise."
"Ayano, you know you wont be able to get to sleep." I held her hand
"I'll be fine, I'll just watch some ASMR or some shit like that. Besides, you need to get your stuff ready for school anyway, just go home."
"If you're sure." I sighed hesitantly
"I'm sure, but thank you." she kissed me on the cheek as I grabbed my jacket. It seemed cold, so I put it on her instead
"You look badass." I laughed
"Hells fucking yeah."
"Let's go."

Ayano's POV
"I'm sure, thank you for driving me home." I hugged him
"You're welcome."
"I'll see you tomorrow, mkay?" he smiled
"Of course. See you tomorrow." I kissed him on the cheek and closed the door as he walked off. I locked the door and got changed into my pyjamas when I noticed that I hadn't heard Budo pull away from the driveway yet. I went to the window and sure enough, Budo was still sitting on his motorbike looking up at me. When he noticed I was looking at him he smiled and did a little wave to me. I laughed and mouthed him the words 'go home.'
I saw him typing something on his phone, so I grabbed mine and saw a text from him
Budo: I was waiting for you to turn your bedroom light off, so I'd know you're going to sleep.
I ran downstairs, slipped on a random pair of shoes and unlocked the door, running up to Budo and hugging him one last time.
"Go to bed." he said as if he were a babysitter
"I couldn't resist. Good night Budo."
