The rain hit the ground hard. Large drops disturbed the dirt. My child is playing on the rings, hands and knees, for she can not walk. Her name is Nadia. She was born when I was just fourteen, after I was kid napped. I'm fifteen, almost sixteen now, named Mindy. The rings here on Saturn are the children's playground for the king thinks playgrounds are useless, so he will not allow one to be built.
I wish the king would go. He's 188 years old, the second oldest man ever to live, other than my grandfather. My grandfather is still alive. He's 203 years old. I feel terrible for the kings son. He always dreamed of becoming king but because the king is so old, the prince died at 151 years old, never taking the thrown. Word has spread the king is in the hospital and his grandson rejoiced for he will become king if the king leaves.
I flew to the rings and searched for Nadia among the many children. I dress her up in a fluorescent yellow color to be easy to be spotted. I hear her giggles as I lift her into my arms and we fly to the clouds. The rain has stopped and the sun warms our skin at a whopping -2 degrees Fahrenheit! How I love summer.
I laid Nadia down onto a cloud where we sit.
"Story time!" She exclaimed.
"Story" was her first word, as of last week. I thought of the humans.
Billions of years ago humans roamed Saturn for any sign of life. The only life was a bacteria that carried a fatal disease. They killed off all the humans except two. All the humans left on earth from war, pollution, sacrifices, disease, and more had come to Saturn on that ship. Only two of the entire human population were left. They were infected from the disease but in a different way.
They mutated. Their skin turned white, their lips turned brown, and their lips grew to a large size. We all look this way now as we are descendants of them. We have adapted to the environment though. We can fly, stand on rings, eat anything, breathe nothing, feel freezing, and more. Nadia loves this story, though she doesn't understand it.
Though babies can't walk, they can fly. We flew, hand in hand. I felt a deep love for her, though she resembled my kidnaper more than me. Their downturned noses, black eyes, white hair. I'm here with an upturned nose, green eyes, blond hair.
We got to my house and laughed at the sight of my brother singing in the backyard. Let's just say I'm glad he doesn't sing in public. I ring the doorbell, too lazy to look for my keys. My mother opens the door and I sigh. She got another tattoo! I act like I don't notice until she starts talking.
"You like my tattoo?"
"Not really mom." Nadia giggled.
"Oh shut up!" She screamed at the child. I kicked the side of her leg causing her to fall to the ground and scream in pain. No one messes with my baby!
