Just think of it. Harry Potter was a horcrux himself. Like Ron, after being exposed to a horcrux for 5 minutes, turns rotten and horrible. The Dursley's were exposed to Harry for 10 years. So the Dursleys could have possibly just been under the influence of dark forces.
