"Star? Why do I have to go back in your closet and get your wand?" Marco asked, annoyed.
"Marco, please. My wand has been acting weird. And I don't want to touch it and risk you being sucked into Cloudy again."
"I hate this closet." Marco muttered.
Marco slowly crept into the closet with a flashlight making sure that the door wouldn't lock him inside again. The mess looked exactly the same as the last time it was when he was in here. He walked around the big piles of hair that was the result of him growing a beard. He looked around and accidentally tripped on a box. Opening it, pictures of Tom flew out. Star had written mustaches on his face.
"Marco, did you find it yet?" Star called from her room.
"Give me more time." Marco said quickly as he stuffed all the pictures back in the box. Marco looked around once more spotting the unicycle and a broken toaster. But he could see a purple object behind the toaster. It was Star's out of control wand! He ran to get it but tripped again. Groaning out of irritation due to his clumsiness, he saw a familiar object behind him. Star's diary.
He could hear Star playing with the laser puppies. Good, she's distracted.
"One little look can't hurt. No. This is Star's personal property. Ugh." Marco debated looking inside the diary.
He couldn't take it. He whipped out the flashlight and looked at Chapter 11. He read the first paragraph and all the adventures they had so far. But what really startled him was what Star genuinely thought about him.
He read, "I met Marco on the first day of school and somehow the principal knew we'd be best of friends and it's true. We were! But ever since I danced with Marco at the Blood Moon Ball and ran to him after Toffee nearly squished him, I saw him differently. When we hugged me after I almost got run over on the highway on a bike, it occurred to me that Marco was like, cute. I don't know what I'm feeling anymore. I guess I like Marco. Okay fine, I'll stop lying to myself. He's really adorable and dorky and nice and caring and... if magical princesses like me only want a rich prince that can keep the royal bloodline going, then they're stupid because all they really need is a Marco. I don't even know what I'd do without him anymore. Well it's getting late. Time for me to Toothpaste Tidal Blast!"
Marco didn't know what to do. He was blushing so much his cheeks hurt and his palms were sweaty. He suddenly froze as he heard footsteps stop right behind him. He could smell sweet bubblegum and strawberries meaning only one person could be there.
He looked at Star and nervously chuckled, "I found your wand."
Star looked down at Marco holding her diary and was still. She knew he had read Chapter 11. Star ran away from the closet and ran far away from Marco. She didn't care about her wand anymore. Star sobbed as she shut the front door of the Diaz's house and ran. She didn't know where she was going and she didn't know when she'd come back. How could she even face Marco again?
Why did I let him in the closet? Should I go back and face him? No. Keeping running, Butterfly.

Star had run to the river where she escaped last time. The old stranger that was here was no where to be found and night was falling. Looking up at the stars, Star was still upset. She was upset because she loved Marco and the feeling grew stronger.
"Honey! You're back." The strange woman she met before greeted her. Star needed to talk. She had walked to her home and Star fell on her couch wrapped around a blanket made of hair.
"Why did you run away again, sweetie?" she asked, making pancakes for Star.
Star sobbed and they both sat down as Star spilled what just happened to her.
The woman watched her this time, not for her hair but for her story.
"But you love him, you have to go back." She said.
"But what if he hates me?" Star cried.
"After all you've told me about him. He seems like a caring young man, he won't hate you."
The princess stopped and stared at the floor. That red-hoodied boy would never stop caring for her and she knew it.
Star looked at the stranger and nodded with a smile. She was right. She didn't want to waste another minute of Marco worrying about her.
"Thank you. Now I'm going home." She said bravely and ran off.
Into the night Star ran, wondering how she could face any of the Diazes again.
Reaching the Diaz backyard, she decided to creep out the back entrance to avoid any conflict.
Right when she was about to open the door outside the house, a shoulder stopped her.
"Don't you want your wand?" A sweet, dorky voice said.
"Marco! I'm sorry. For everything. Just forget this ever happened."
To her surprise she felt a warm hug. Marco wrapped his arms around Star and was about to cry.
"I was so worried about you." He said.
"Don't be. I'm fine!" Star said pulling away from him. Star stopped, she was about to cry too.
"Marco, I'm sorry I ran away, I just couldn't face you."
Marco smiled at her. "Is it true all magical princesses need a Marco?"
Star laughed. "You know I have some experience being a magical princess and I can say that is definitely true."
Marco was going to say something else but Star jumped toward him and went on her tiptoes. She kissed him and she wasn't even sorry. Marco of course was doofy and freaked out for the first few seconds but he came down to Earth and focused on the task at hand, kissing Star. He wrapped his arms around her and thought of the magical princess, his best friend, and his Blood Moon Ball proven, new soulmate.
